Okay, I need wireless router help (again)...

I bought a D-Link DI 614+ wireless router. I’ve got my desktop plugged into one of the four ethernet cable plug-ins, and we have a laptop with a wireless card. The instructions for the D-Link router were hard for me to understand, and the user interface is one of the most confusing things I’ve had to deal with in a while, but I finally got the laptop on the network, at least so far as to get internet access.

A couple questions:
I used to be able to listen to baseball games via MLB.com’s Gameday Audio, but I haven’t been able to since I installed the router. I get an error that says “This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the administrator to look for messages in the server’s error log.” I’m guessing that the router is preventing something from doing something, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Can anyonee shed some light? Do I need to open some prot or another? I don’t know how to do that on my router.

Second: The laptop can get internet access through the router, but it can’t access shared files on the desktop computer. The desktop can’t see the laptop, either. How do I get the two computers to recognize each other? How do I access a list of all computers on the network at a given time?

I can’t figure either of these things out from the router user interface. It’s not very clear (to me). Anyone got experience with this router?

I’ve got that router and have no trouble doing the things you are trying to do. Unfortunately I’m away from home just now and won’t be back until next sunday to check specific settings. I suggest making sure the router firmware is up to date and that you may consider resetting it to default configuration apart from wireless security so no one hijacks your network. Feel free to email me at the address in my profile.
