Got the iPod on shuffle this morning. Song came up that I don’t recall ever having heard before, thought “sounds like Duke Ellington” – checked, yup, Duke Ellington. “Work Song.”
Damn I’m good.

Very cool; good on ya.
I enjoy stuff like that - just the other day a friend popped in a song by an artist I had never heard - Walking with Mario by Jessie Cook, I think. I was listening and remarked how the nylon string flamenco-ish work was cool, but it sounded like he was using a flatpick for some parts so I wanted to see how he did it. I found him on Youtube and sure enough, he uses a nylon acoustic-electric, playing it flamenco style with his fingers, then grabbing a pick and flatpicking single note lines. A definite “damn, I’m good” moment
