Because I have two dogs, and there would quickly have been a fatal play accident I expect.
As for paranoia on the hole, they came down a vent that leads outside. I’m going to put a grid over it, but I’m not too worried about going up to the attic with my friend Sallah and having him ask, “Joe, why does the floor move?”.

Do they make flying squirrel feeders? I’m pretty sure giving it nothing but peanut butter and string cheese would fairly quickly impact it’s gliding ability.
If my yard is any indication, bird feeders turn into flying squirrel feeders at night.
Any special food you use? Both of my feeders are far enough away from the house that I can’t really see them at night. Maybe I’ll turn the big lights on occasionally if I think I’ll see something interesting.

I just put the stuff from Wild Birds Unlimited in the feeder. Both the birds and the squirrels seem to like it.
