I think it was once common practice in the US regardless of religious affiliation. I don’t know if those rates have gone down. Personally I would err on the side of not altering a child’s body unnecessarily. I think that attitude is becoming more common. I am not religious.
And I don’t think this is a thread about male circumcision.
Yeah, it’s in the pit, so hijack away. But i refrained from commenting on the subject because i think there’s still things to say about the actual topic of this thread, and other places to talk about circumcision.
As I posted above, it was a common medical procedure. Nothing to do with religion. I believe the practice decreased around 1990.
