It was really strange when I heard the Three Tenors sing the Firto Bandito song in Italian. (or something very like Italian)

Shoshana: The jingle I remember was set to the tune of the USA Civil War-era song Goober Peas and went as follows:
“Goobers, Raisinets

Zebra: You probably heard the Three Tenors singing the Spanish-language standard Cielito Lindo, the title of which means “Beautiful Little Heaven”.
I heard this catchy tune in Singapore around 1993. I came back to the US soon afterward, and none of my friends recognized it when I sang it for them. Only in college did I find someone who recognized the tune. She came from Ghana and suggested that this particular ad campaign might have been aired only outside the US.
(I may have the ‘nickel’ and ‘trickle’ reversed, but I’m confident of the rest. . . .)
