Spot and I napped.
Dear Spot, while “making biscuits” is a sign of love, DO NOT MAKE BISCUITS ON MY EYEBALLS WITH CLAWS OUT.
In any case, I’m up, having a martini and teriyaki chicken stir-fry.
I need an adult.
I entered a contest to win a Lego Williams F1 car.
6 weeks with no floozy-ing on a torpedo tube?
The number of times I’ve tripped on the pile of boxes on the right, white looking to avoid tripping the boxes on the left while cleaning up someone’s mess…

For something something so small, they do leave a big hole in in our hearts.
Looking at Spot Day 1 vs. Day 800, yeah.
It’s not so bad. You get to avoid the Daywalkers.
And glad ChurchGuy is doing good.
Howdy Y’all! We procured and stowed provisions and were our usual RDOS selves this afternoon. We had chikin noodle soup, chikin sallit and pimento cheese sammiches and spice cake for sup over to the church house. Discussion group was lively tonight. Well, lively as talkin’ about catechism can be. There are three adults preparin’ for confirmation and they pay attention and ask questions. Yay for that.
JtC, I haven’t been in much and don’t think I’ve expressed my condolences yet. I know, though, that you’d want me to post about Chloe before posting about you.
Yay Boo & doggio! Hooray for standing up for democracy!
I accompanied her to the dealer this morning, after a stop at the bank for a cashiers check. She was so excited. The teller told her congratulations. She was right; her salesperson was great. The Financial person not so much as he tried to sell her various types of warranties for tires, rims, etc and wouldn’t stop even after she said she wasn’t interested in any of it. I noticed that they hadn’t touched up the spot where there was a paint chip that I told Hubs to request be done when he returned the car after the check by the mechanic. Salesperson said the paint guy is regularly scheduled on Fridays so daughter will have to bring it back. Then I noticed some chips on the hood and the sort of bumper thing below the grill and salesperson said the paint guy could take care of when she brings it back in. After she interacted with the OnStar person (from India; I’m glad it was her interacting with him because I had a lot of trouble understanding what he was saying), the salesperson brought out the license plate, inserted it in the holder and she was off with a HUGE smile on her face.
That is so awesome. Congrats; great focus!
“Thank You (Falettineme Be Mice Elf Agin)”
The summer that I met Hubs, his last term in college, I still had another year, my roommate and Hubs went to a concert by Sly and the Family Stone. I learned how to smuggle bottles into venues from roommate that night; she put it down her jeans along her backside. Anyway, the concert started more than an hour late and only lasted for about 2 songs as Sly was higher than a zillion kites and wasn’t unable to continue.
When keggers were held in the dorm, their songs were always on the play list as they were great to dance to, including but not limited to “Dance to the Music”.
Yay! Thanks in advance for supporting democracy
So you’re saying that CurrentNellie was doing today what FutureNellie was supposed to do tomorrow. slight appropriation from shoe
This afternoon I went to my BF’s (BestFriend’s) house and we filled the toilet paper tube planters that we made on Sunday with potting mix and then planted seeds. She had cut some plastic water bottles that had mouths just slightly smaller than the tube openings so that we could fill them with the potting mix without getting our hands dirty at all. We wrote the names of the seeds on the tubes. I kept texting daughter to ask if she wanted any of the particular seeds that I was planting. So, I planted seeds in 39 of the tube planters. I had 9 more tube planters left but today I only planted vegetables, we’ll plant the flower seeds on Friday. As I was sitting here watching tv, I made another 28 tube planters so I’ll have 37 for the tomato seeds that we’re buying tomorrow and for the flowers.
Yikes, it’s already tomorrow and I have to go into the office tomorrow (Th) so I need to get to bed. Night all.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 10c/50f with a predicted high of 15c/59f and sunny. Weather app says “While I enjoy mild fucking weather, I’m not a fan of the fucking sun.” That’s a same because it’s gloriously sunny out there.
So now you’re ready for whichever of your neighbours decides to step in and take charge until the US finds a competent adult?
I am so sorry to hear that, and I can imagine how frustrating it will be for you to wait out those weeks for it to heal. But you can still do your bit from the sidelines, and get yourself fit for duty later!
I am so sorry, it’s really hard to go to the vet thinking you will get a treatment plan and then finding out something worse. You gave Chloe a wonderful life, and she was lucky to have had you, especially at the end when she most needed to to know how much she was loved.
metalmouse I took your advice and elected not to go to the pub last night. Definitely a good decision!
Yesterday’s commute home was much better than the journey in, and I had a quiet evening at home. The cats seem quite happy with the new covered litter trays and have been using all of them, so there was plenty of emptying and refilling to do, but no clean-up or vacuuming around the boxes. Watched a bit of Dark Winds, and was in bed by 10pm after buying the girlies’ affections with Dreamies.
The Travel Gods chose to give me a bus on time this morning, but then made all the trains late. I can live with that, got to work and found a reply to yesterday’s skip fire which means I can get on with fixing that. 'im indoors has been to look at some alternative accommodation as he’s not happy with the place he’s living near his work, and hopefully he’ll be moving into a new place by the beginning of April. He’s coming home this evening so I’m sure I’ll hear all about it then.
Up stupid early because we’ve got an 8AM Covid shot appointment. Then FCD gets his eyes examined at 9:30. I don’t know what I’ll do today. It’s currently 31° in my yard - whose idea was that???
I think I read the wrong forecast for tomorrow - Baltimore will have mid-60s and sun - that will make for pleasant meandering. I must remember a hat, tho, so I’m not squinting all day.
As soon as my sweetie is dressed, we’ll go get a McBreakfast as it’s just across the street from CVS. Then shots and home and we’ll see how my day develops.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 47 out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 and mostly cloudy. The big plan of the day is yahd irk. We are in danger of bein’ the worst yahd in da ‘hood. Can’t have that! Thus the need to mow, edge, and trim. This will assure that we maintain the status of second worst yahd, which I am fine with. Sup will be grilled ham steak, green beans, all rotten N.O.T. from a box (don’t judga!), and rolls. Should be warm enough to start by nine a.m. so as the afternoon can be devoted to RDOS inactivities.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Annie has been dropped off for her surgery and MusicMan and I are both worried about her. They told me that they don’t remove healthy teeth in response to my query about how this could have been prevented. Of course I’d love for my dog to have healthy teeth! But, when she’s down to having only 4 of them, they don’t seem particularly useful.
Annie got even for me, though. It was kind of funny because I had a stool sample and forgot to take it along. No worries, though, Annie left a fresh one right by the front door! And she peed for good measure, too.
Ok, I also have my appointment today to get a new brace. I promise I won’t leave him any presents on the floor.
I’ve been shot… in the arm. No sticker, but CVS has pretty color bandages - mine is lime green!! Anyway, my Covid protection is boosted. And still no autism - go figure!
I need to clean out my car and fuel it so we’re ready to go tomorrow. It’s not too terrible, but I’ll empty the trash can and fold up the little afghans in the back seat and make sure there’s nothing on the floor.
I think while I’m out seeking fuel, I’ll stop somewhere for some granola bars. Easy to slip in a purse and semi-healthy snacks. I’d take some grapes for Tobias, but that would likely result in a baggie full of grape juice and pulp.
I’ve gotten several emails with verification numbers - someone somewhere is trying to get into my accounts. I foresee changing passwords on all my accounts. Dammit.
Yesterday afternoon I put the coffee pot in the dishwasher and ran it. When I got home from rehearsal at 10pm the dishwasher was running again, because my wife didn’t realize that I had run it earlier. So I couldn’t set the coffee up last night. So I stumbled to the kitchen 20 minutes ago to make coffee.
Now, one of the reasons that I like to set up coffee the night before is that making coffee before I’ve had my coffee is sometimes harder than it should be. As it was this morning when after 15 minutes it so I realized I couldn’t hear the coffee brewing and went into the kitchen to discover that instead of turning the coffee maker on, I set the timer to brew it tomorrow morning.
Morning all. Waiting for the plumbers to arrive, they usually call ahead of time so waiting for the phone to ring. Did move some of the furniture around to give them some working space, I’m just hoping the problem is where we think it is, if it’s the other place we’ll have to take the granite countertop and drawers out and that will be time and money. Such is life. 50F now but heading for 78F so my first soccer practice this afternoon should be a good one (need to send a reminder e-mail out this morning).
Coppertone, we have several folks on the night shift (and boo fae and dicey are 5-6 hours ahead of us), so you would be in good company.
CatGlove, may she enjoy the car for years to come. And sounds like a fun day planting with BFF.
FCM, probably should get a COVID booster, had one last fall IIRC.
Sticky Buns, all appendages crossed for Annie to do well.
Knots, glad your check showed up. Wonder if everyone else’s did too.
Pavo, I don’t drink coffee , but hope you get your caffeine fix.
And need to get properly dressed for company (blue jeans and a shirt), so take care all.
