I was on the 100 and 200 slides, except the majority of the time I was on the 200 Sort Table. Clean up wasn’t too bad, no new damages, and just a couple of abandoned International return packages. I did my Aldi run, picked up a hunk of bread cheese. I filled up Carmen, $4.29/gallon. Now I’ve had my dry, flavorless bits(with milk and blueberries), and Spot has had his(plain), so it’s naptime.
This is one of the most mundane and pointless things I have ever done. I washed a doll’s clothes. They are hanging to dry and I will iron them when they are dry. I am slightly insane….
But she’s a Madame Alexander doll. Eight inch Amy from Little Women. Her clothes have always been a bit bedraggled. Her hair needs redoing but I am not a hairdresser.
Going out to dinner tonight. We are on the hunt for the best local patty melt so that’s what I’m having.
Afternoon all. Shopping is complete (had to get a full gallon of skim milk as they were out of half-gallons but it has a 2-week expiration time so it should work out) and Jersey Mikes has taken care of my appetite (the last 2 muffins did not make it to noon) so have plenty of calories to work off at the gym today. Still cloudy but up to 70F now and we’re looking at 90F by the weekend.
Mollie, I bet the boys have an inkling about the news, just from clues you didn’t know you were dropping. I hope it goes well. boo fae makes some great points.
flyboy, dealing with the Great Public is always an adventure; read the website Not Always Right to see other cases where this is proven true. And I endorse JtC recommendation on looking for other jobs…ya never know…
Taters, nice bit of reverse psychology there. Best wishes to Zeus and son.
Cookie, I’ve been getting up around 6am for bladder relief duty and then just staying up. A sleep-in until 8am sounds great. Happy plant shopping!
FCM, ah, I see, thanks for that I wondered if you just let it putter along till the fuel ran out… I can enjoy a 2 or even 3 week vacation while active, it’s coming home and getting back into the usual stuff that can wear on me.
wet one, I am sure the doll approves. Enjoy the patty melt.
And need to pack up my troubles in my old gym bag and sweat, sweat, sweat. Take care all.
Sorry, flyboy. I echo JtC’s job-hunting advice. Also, I’ll be you’ve calculated it out, but we decided our retirement ages based in part on the cost-benefit point, and it won’t matter much until an age at which I expect to be dead or be the government’s problem.
May it go well, Mollie.
Taters, sounds like it could have gone worse.
Nellie, I hope you’re improved.
I continue to have twingy little youches, but with my friend visiting, expect to get some good slow walks in.
Well, scratch that. The wife has once again cancelled out on leaving the apartment. This has become the norm for her and it’s troubling to say the least.
She is being released to the SNF today, assuming they’ll still have the bed and that it was approved by Medicare.
She will need follow-up with the orthopedic surgeon, both for the arm that was operated on and her shoulder, which had an old fracture. Right now, due to the infection, it’s not a good idea to operate on the shoulder. The shoulder fracture is new to me, but the X-rays show it is old, which is a little disturbing. I know she had some falls a couple of years ago. Her shoulder has been bothering her for quite some time, so now we know there is a clinical reason for it.
My husband is still in bed, so I’m not sure the nursery trip is still on.
And, I’ll call the rehab facility tomorrow to ensure my mother is actually there before heading out for a visit.
Jeez, lotsa shoulder injuries and canceled plant-buying plans 'round here lately.
In a few minutes, Monkey’s peaceful snooze will (hopefully .. for me, not so much for him) be temporarily disrupted, as I am awaiting an Internet tech. Someone came by last week selling their company’s services, promising Faster! Cheaper! First three months free! … and I am an “I’ll believe it when I see it” person and also the room where the current modem? router? I’m not great at these things .. lives is a hot mess of clean laundry and Amazon deliveries, so that’ll be fun/not fun.
But cheaper is good, assuming the service is reasonably similar quality, and I don’t do gaming or a lot of streaming.
Had a fire drill at irk, which was the main excitement for the day. At least they picked a dry day this time, but it was still a bit chilly, for those who hadn’t got a jacket, to stand round outside for ages until they stopped faffing and let us back in. The spring seems to have stalled a bit, despite the swifts being back- the return of the swifts being my normal sign that summer really is coming, honest. It’s relatively sunny and quite dry, but still pretty cold.
I bucked the trend on the cancelled plant buying; I am not supposed to be buying plants, but when I called in Lidl to get some milk a calamondin orange plant just dived into my basket when I had my back turned for a moment. It was very cheap for the size and besides, I have no self control. There’s probably a tiny spot somewhere I can squeeze it in, and it can live outside for the summer, but honestly it’s getting to the point where this is legally the plants’ house, not mine.
I must be one of those great minds. I did find out that my Aldi no longer carries popcorn that you pop on the stove. I’ll pick some up when I hit Joe V.'s tomorrow.
Do you have Steak & Waffle? That’s what Waffle House is called in Indiana.
Still no sign of the tech install person, although customer service assured me they will be forthcoming.
Sucks mostly because it’s a lovely afternoon and while my introverted ass is happy to sit inside, I’d love to let Monks out.
In happier news, while doing some minor tasks in the walk-in last night, I saw what looked like a take-out of queso next to a bag of chips. Some questioning revealed that they belonged to S.M. who told me to go ahead and toss them.
I made puppy dog eyes.
“I just got them earlier today. Do you want them?”
TL:DR I am currently eating free (to me) chips’n’queso while awaiting the promised Internet Tech Installer Dude.
The driveway work is proceeding. They have pulled four enormous dump trucks full of the broken remains, and I see the forms being set. Possibly tomorrow we will get the first section poured.
Ralphie headed fro the basement with the first truck. He is now firmly ensconced in the farthest corner under my daughter’s bed. He spent the whole time there while the plumbing was being replaced.
Take western Michigan off that list, too. Y’all talking about the House of The Waffle made me look 'em up.
Nearest is approx. 6 hours away, which is a bit of a drive if you’re blackout drunk (as most clientele tend to be) but hey, if you’re hammered and near Detroit … uh, good luck to ya.
Monkey is enjoying the sunshine, cuz I am giving up on these assholes lovely folks. 1-5 p.m. window and we’re closing in on the last half hour of that. Grrmph.
I have almost polished off my Free Queso ™ and am closing in on my supply of Devil Lettucebooze soup.
