(Old) I think I MAY start the MMP

See what I did there? MAY - yanno, like this month…

OK, not all that clever, but it should get us started. My day starts at 54 Ferrets with much rain promised. Plans are to go with the flow.

Happy Moanday!!

First! But now I MAY going back to sleep.

Good morning! Here in Elkhart, there are 42 ferrets on the lawn, and they are wearing sunglasses. Later on, we’ll get up to 63, with on-and-off clouds all day.

We located the charger for all the trike’s flashers, but not the flashers themselves. They’re in a box somewhere, with my crash hat.

And the rain has just started - moments after FCD left for the boat. He’s going to bring home the fuel cut-off relay and clean it up - he couldn’t stop the engine when we got back to the marina because a wire broke leading to the relay. Anyway, he’ll make the relay corrosion-free, then repair the wire and all should be well. Till the next thing happens. Because it will. Because boat.

For now, tho, I’m going to shower then run to Food Lion and Aldi for a few things. I’m almost out of yogurt and we’re down to our last 2 'nanners. Plus I finished off the pineapple. Not a huge shopping trip, but still necessary. After that, dunno. Maybe some yard work, maybe some house work.

Morning all. Awaiting some predicted rain showers this morning but temperature is due to reach 72F so I can tolerate it. Nothing much on the agenda this week, have a Drs. appointment for my annual checkup tomorrow, but that’s the only thing firmly scheduled, so might even get some house-irk done. Found out I cannot buy a 6-pack of Thomas’ English muffins, (cinnamon raisin) since I did that Sunday and now have a 3-pack… Do need to get my weekly apple supply and a sammich from Jersey Mikes so will be out among the masses in a bit. I have two Whataburger gift cards, so I think that will provide the evening repast.

Hippie (from last week’s), hope the driveway work is fast and good. My concrete driveway has cracks in it but not willing to spend the thousands to make it look perfect.

Knots, I’m sure you will find the flashers and hat in the last place you look…

FCM, if you couldn’t stop the engine, then how did you stop the engine?

Onward into the week! Have a good one all.

FCMom, I saw the pic of your FCboat on the previous MMP. Yow, that is some classy boat, all spiffed-up Bristol fashion. All your hard work was worth it.

Why not leave the box and crash hat on the trike seat or under the trike? Along with the charger.

What the hell? I have set two separate alarms to make sure I don’t sleep on the couch, and I somehow slept though BOTH of them! Damnit girl! you need to stop that shit!

Anyhow, it was raining this morning, so no walking.

Today is the day I tell Squeaky and Spike about Mollie. I am nervous, but hopeful. A lot of the folks I spoke with Saturday - their kids seemed accepting. At the end of the day, I’ll still be their father. I guess that’s the thing that gets me. Several of the other people at the meeting were triggered by by their kids calling them Dad and not Mom, which I do not get. I do not want my kids to call me “Mom” or anything like that. Mrs Magill had that shit down. Why would I want to dilute that?

I usually add garlic until the ghosts of Mrs Magill’s ancestors whisper, “That’ll do, dear.”

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/51f with a predicted high of 12c/53f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Not much going on with the fucking weather today. Let’s get fucking crazy and try to name all of the fucking superfoods.”

Hippie I hope the driveway work goes well and there isn’t too much disruption to your lives.

Moooom I saw the boat pics on FB, looks like you all had a lovely day and it’s good to see the boat finally getting some use!

Mollie I hope the discussion with Squeaky and Spike goes well. My impression from hearing of other such conversations is that today’s generation of youngsters are much more open and accepting of such changes. Now that it’s more common for them to see and hear about their schoolfriends being gender-fluid, changing their looks and their pronouns, and it becomes something that’s a little more commonplace for them, I would hope that it makes them more open to hearing about your own feelings.

Nothing exciting going on here today, we still have the fallout from last week’s Canvas problems, and today is the start of exams for us so everyone’s a little bit tense. I’ve got a bunch of things to get done for our own exams, so I need to get started on that because they’ll be here before I know it!

I’ve been out to do the grocery shopping in my lunch break, 'im indoors went out to get us something yummy for lunch and came back with momos (because our usual Indian food truck wasn’t there today). I have more irk to do this afternoon, then I am off to the gym later. Leftover chilli from the freezer for dinner when I get back again.

Onwards, and more tea!

It’s 06:30, and in half an hour I’ll have to get ready for irk. I’m tired. Dealing with the public is stressful. My schedule is rigid. I don’t have time to do anything during the week. (Come home, eat something (not ‘make something’) for dinner, then go to bed two hours later. Saturdays are for chores. I have to go to church on Sundays, so there goes half the day. (Mornings are not unencumbered, because I have to get ready for church; and it’s an hour’s drive round-trip.)

But I need the job, so I can’t complain.

Spike’s best friend’s older brother is in his transition, so I hope that smooths the way for me. Funny thing about Ray. I’d known him since he was little, and he was never happy. Sure he’d smile once in a while, but there was always a sadness there. This past June, I saw him at the the local Pridefest, and he looked genuinely happy. There was such a look of joy on his face, and subconsciously I realized wanted that for myself. It took a couple of months for that egg to crack, and now here we are.

Mornin’ all.

It’s 54F and mostly cloudy right now. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a daytime high of 71F.

FCM, I saw the boat pics. She looks purty!

Hippie, I hope the driveway replacement goes smoothly.

Mollie, I hope the discussion with your kids goes well. As BooFae said, many kids today are more accepting of this because they see it among their peers.

I drove out to the hospital yesterday morning with some Mother’s Day flowers for my mother and stayed about an hour. The confusion was back, but according to the nurse, it’s more pronounced in the morning and evening/night. According to the nurse, although the white count was down, she’d probably be there another day or two before moving to SNF. It seems the target keeps changing, but as long as she’s getting the care she needs, that’s all that matters. Her blood pressure kept rising, so now they’re watching that, too.

However, she spent five solid minutes griping about the bed, her chair, and everything else under the sun as soon as I walked in the door. I told her she must be feeling better because she’s back to griping about everything. She toned the griping right away. She did a good job eating her breakfast, and I got her some juice to go with the breakfast since she doesn’t really drink coffee.

I’m supposed to hear from the hospitalist today. She called yesterday, but I missed the call, and when I tried to return the call, I missed the doc. I am not going to the hospital today.

After the hospital visit yesterday, I loaded the dogs and my husband into the Jeep, and we drove down to my son’s new place to spend the day with him. He was definitely tired. Zeus didn’t let him sleep much the previous night. I dunno, I’m not sure if Zeus will get to stay there. My son sure is trying. Zeus is a beautiful and very sweet dog. When we arrived yesterday with our dogs, all three went into full zoomie mode, chasing each other through the house and backyard, tails wagging, with stops for play bows and sniffs. It was good to see that. However, Zeus can’t really be trusted alone and will go into destruction mode if left to his own devices inside the house, Or barks at night if outside because he’s alerting to movement in the neighborhood.

Poor guy. I really hope it works out for both him and my son. The farm thing might not be happening because the family is reluctant to talk to the owner now that one of his dogs is not doing well at all, and consequently, neither is the owner.

All the same, we had an enjoyable time yesterday, and my son sent me home with a large plant container full of orangey-colored begonias, ferns, and other plants. It’s very pretty, and it’s on the front porch with my other baskets and pots.

Today, we plan to go to the “fancy” nursery for a belated Mother’s Day shopping trip.

Tomorrow, it’s back to the hospital, and then to mother’s place to check the mail, and mow her lawn.

Alrighty, on with the day.

You all take care!

Good Mornin’, or afternoon, or evenin’ Y’all! Needless to say, I am up, caffeinated, fed, shevelled and even been out in public, so no YAWN. 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 85 and cloudy. I needed to do some errands, so I went bravely forth amongst the great unwashed first thing. Now I can be a RDOS hermit the rest of the day. Sup will be grilled poke chops, field peas with snaps ‘n okra, cheesey rice and rolls. Borin’ but it’ll feed.

Hippie hope all goes well with the driveway fix. May it go quickly.

Mollie I, too, hope the discussion with Squeaky and Spike goes well.

FlyBoy the fun of the workaday world. Not!

Taters glad you had a good time at your son’s place. I hope things work out for Zeus.

Wishing you the best of results. As stated above, kids today are much more accepting of differences.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. After, I’ll get sheveled and make a trip to CVS and Aldi. After that, RDOS.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Overslept this morning, not arising until 0800. Got breakfast rolling right away, but I decided not to go to exercise. I don’t like being rushed, for one thing, but on Friday she had said she was bringing “toys” today to do hand exercises. I don’t want to aggravate the arthritis in my thumbs, so I’m out.

We’re heading for the local gardening mecca around noon to find our annual tomato plant and to buy flowers and herbs for the communal garden areas. The wife loves to garden and really misses our yard in Portland, so this will perk her up.

Got the laundry done yesterday. I actually don’t mind doing it, whereas the Ms. loathes it. Hate making the bed, but the rest of it is sort of a Zen-like thing.

Looks like I’ll have to irk until I’m 70. If I start collecting Social Security now, I’ll receive $2,234 (interestingly, an old address of mine) per month. If I retire at 67, I’ll receive $2,599/month. If I retire at 70, then I’ll receive $3,229/month.

I remember those days so clearly. It was horrible and I really didn’t start feeling rested until I’d been retired for about six months. Even vacations weren’t restful because I had to pack in all of the fun before getting ready for another work week.

Keep slogging and try to schedule at least two hours a week to look for other work. I know that’s time you could be spending sleeping or petting kitties, but there’s gotta be something better for you out there.

This is what I want for you and for everyone who is dealing with GD. I just want you folks to be happy and content. That will make the world a happier place and lord knows, we need more smiles in the world nowadays.

I used to know someone who had land and a couple of Great Pyrenees, they were wonderful dogs. Very protective, she depended on them to keep her kids and chickens out of the road. Both of the dogs had jobs and responsibilities, one of them was in charge of the chickens and the other was in charge of the goats. Both of them kept their eyes on the two cows so they were busy all day long.

I guess what I’m saying is that they are working dogs and need a fairly challenging job. I sure do hope your son is able to find something for Zeus, he sounds like such a sweetheart. How does your son feel about cats? Maybe a couple of kittens would keep Zeus busy?

Hippy, I hope your driveway is going well. Does Ralphie (please tell me I didn’t forget your handsome guy’s name) supervise that sort of thing or is the noise too upsetting? Will you be able to leave tomorrow morning or will it need a few days to properly cure? Best of luck, no matter which!

I have never minded doing laundry at home, packing up everything and using community machines always seemed icky and time consuming. Is there a fluff and fold service somewhere close? I haven’t used one for years, but as I recall, they were not that pricey and it just makes life so much easier if you don’t have the machines at home.

I’m “finished” buying plants for the spring. I’m not sure what’s going to happen with what I’ve got in the ground now and need to wait and see while taking notes for next year. Today dawned raining and it will continue off and on all day. I fed the backyard birds during a dry patch so the fuzzbutts have their bedroom TV on and have been chasing the birds from window to window through the house.

Hubs takes a morning nap and somehow managed to sleep through the entire stampede despite being on the “jump over the human filled recliner” lap.

Oh, I see Nellie is posting, I’ll give up the floor to her! I hope you are much improved Nellie. Mollie, I hope your talk with your kids goes even better than you hope.

this weekend lager wanted a lot of snuggle time. as i didn’t have much going on i went with it. i did get in some knitting, take it there now, with the good will, cardboard, recycle, and compost bins, as well as some general tiding. lager started his thyroid meds on saturday. thankfully, i can do anything to him as long as there is food or treats involved. it makes it so easy. he and koritza like the cosequin chews.

fcm, that is one good looking boat, and crew! what a great day y’all had.

as dogbutler mentioned it was a rough weekend for phila sport teams. hockey and basketball are done. the banners came down very quickly. the city crew must have done some overtime.

taters, it is good having professionals see what you are seeing with your mother.

mollie, i hope all goes well with your discussion. having the support of mrs magill will make things easier with your kids. they will see that you are united. that will mean a lot.

nellie, i hope you are feeling better.

susan, i hope your recovery is going well.

He lifted a floor panel, reached into the engine room, and manually pulled the fuel cut-off switch - the relay usually does that, but one of the wires broke.

The vast majority of the work is out of sight, but we did have all the teak redone and had the topsides compounded and polished. It’s the best it’s looked since we bought it, and probably for many years before.

FCD isn’t a big fan of garlic, but I’ll still use it, tho conservatively. He has yet to not eat.

Semi-related - Roxy’s “fiance” has 2 moms. Tobias is OK with that, but when I said something about having 3 moms, he laughed and laughed!

Add caring for a kid to that and you have a peek into 18 years of my life. But we do what we must…

FCD had a boss who all but forced his employees to take 2 weeks of vacation at a time because it took a week just to relax enough to enjoy the second week. That was a great company, which, sadly, no longer exists.

It’s been raining pretty steadily, so I shan’t be working in the yard. I did venture out to fling some clover seeds about. Then while I was on my grocery run, a certain canine took it upon himself to empty three wastebaskets. I know why he went for FCD’s - there was food leavin’s within… OK 'nanner peels, but still. The other two, on the other hand, just had paper - tissues, napkins, miscellaneous papers. So I came home to a chore. Idiot dog.

I scored some 80% ground beef and a poke tenderloin from the used meat pile. I’ve now got two meatloaves in the freezer and we’re having the poke for supper.

FCD is home from the boat - he’s going out to his shop after lunch to futz with the relay. I’m running the ice maker thru the cleaning cycle. Beyond that, dunno what I’ll do. He did say we should take a week on the boat, so I may pull out the chart pack and start planning.

Currently 59 Ferrets (out of an expected 64) and cloudy. Highs will supposedly be in the 60s all week, then the 70s over the weekend. Hopefully it will stay up there next week.

Nuked a frozen chicken chimichanga for breakfast. Those have been my main breakfast item for years.

This Fanta Crimson Sour Cherry is really good. I’m assuming the armour and the DIV logo on the label are associated with the Diablo IV game I heard about last week.

WalMart and the commissary coming up ths afternoon – such excitement!
