(Old) Marching along in the MMP

Lessee, besides finishing the water system, there’s removing a small refrigeration unit that no longer works and converting its cabinet to storage drawers, removing the stove and replacing it with a 2-burner stove top and a combo toaster oven/air fryer/rotisserie, building in a pull-out spice rack and adding a large drawer under the stove area, replacing the shower sump pumps, painting the aft cabin and the V-berth, installing the new anchor wash-down pump, reinstalling some of the electronics on the flybridge, sanding and cetol-ing the center window frame in the main cabin, getting all the windows to open again, refurbishing the dinghy, reinstalling the mast, getting all the nav lights working… Oh, and I get to sew a dinghy cover. I think that’s most of it…

Or we’ll be dead.

I finally hemmed the hatch cover, so all we need to do is install the snaps that will hold it on. I swear, it took longer to get everything out and put it all away than to stitch the hem. That’s what happens when your dining room table is also your sewing table.

Marketplace came thru again! We sold a fish tank that’s been sitting in our garage for eons. So to celebrate, we’ll apply the proceeds to supper at the sushi place. Yum. Now, if I’d just hear back from the woman who said she wanted the TV.

I think I’ll clean up and urge FCD out for an early supper.

Admiral Akbar “Its a trap!”

I’m so happy George likes belly rubs. We would both have stubs for hands if he didn’t cause his belly is just too irresistible!

Coal Rollers decked out in trump gear. Coal rollers is one of the the names used for those super lifted diesel pick-ups with loud mufflers and mistimed engines that they use to shoot stinky black smoke out at people. Trumpies tend to be obnoxious, what other vehicle would they choose if they had the money?

Benjamin Netanyahu.

Well darn! hehehe.

I’ll bet the ratties had fun with their new bedding, they needed to get it just right again.

Why bother? Just put peanuts in a bowl and be done with it. Onan will still be hanging out for Spot’s entertainment.

The possums came and pooped on my ramp again last night so I’m going to start putting a bowl of bird seed in the grass at the base of the ramp. Hopefully that will keep their poop on the grass where it belongs.

Latin mass was the start of my interest in learning to read latin. The missles had both versions side by side and I like to follow along in both languages.

Oh, and yes, you are right that coons locked up in a barn or shed can make a real mess. Its never happened to me, but it did to a neighbor once and I saw/smelled the aftermath.

Even if you do have a choice between shippers, Amazon has a special deal with the USPS for last mile delivery so the merchant won’t know who will end up delivering your package either.

Its all about the money, of course.

Happily for us, paying off the delivery folks isn’t really a thing out here, so our yearly bribes make more of an impact  Everything goes into the mail box in our driveway or on the table by the front door.

Once again, time has slipped between my fingers, things to do before dinner, I’ll be back later.

Back, full of sushi. Yum!

That tiny little strip of stores (anchored by an Ace Hardware) has a Chinese place, a kettle corn store, the sushi/hibachi place, a Mexican place, and Papa John’s, so Italian? or just pizza? Oh, and a liquor store. The only other places are a dental practice, a nail salon, and a hair salon. Restaurants for the win!!!

And we’re in for the night. We’ll probably be working at home tomorrow. We’ve both got stuff around here that needs doin’ so we shall.

I scanned this wrong and initially was really impressed with your language abilities. When I lived in Taiwan, it could be hit or miss when I ordered in Chinese. I was happy when the restaurant staff spoke English so I could order in English.

My mother is feeling better but she’s still too tired. It may be the most recent change in meds.

My mother is hard to live with. I grew up in a dysfunctional family and she hasn’t gotten much better.

Did you ever wonder why I live on the other side of the world? I love her but I could never live with her.

My sister cooked some pork chops in a lot of liquid and flavoring. She shredded the meat and we’ve had that on hand for a couple of days. I just made a sandwich with that and BBQ sauce.

Yesterday we went down to my nephew’s place. First, we went to a trampoline park and they all jumped for two hours. After a hamburger, we did putt putt golf and my kids loved that as well.

We stayed overnight then had the three-hour drive back today.

SenBoy needs lots of activities so he and I went to the park for frisbee and futsol drills. This old man in tired.

Katy, TX. The town is just outside of Houston, but big in rice storage, production and shipping. Tends to be politically conservative.

Beef and seafood? Lovely kitteh!

Just finished supper. I made Spanish chorizo soup. ‘Twas good!

Sadie actually loves them. She was begging for more when I took the photo.

Howdy Y’all! We marched around with palms, did the very long Passion Gospel, and all that there Palm Sunday type stuff. Some of the kiddies were dressed in “middle eastern” costumes and were so kee-yoote processin’ around the church whilst wavin’ palms. They managed to do that and head to children’s church in a somewhat orderly manner. We got stoner food and achieved nappage. It’s been cool and windy all day which makes me sleepy, so it’s likely to be an early bedtime. Plus, the biiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow.

BooFae gold lame boob tube and hot pants? Why would I have worn formal clothes to go to a buffet?

WetOne of course it helped. All fans know for a fact that their teams can hear them hollerin’ through the teevee.

doggio it’s pancakes and arson with bacon and snausages. That’s as if all the major holidays were all rolled into one big one!

F1 was great, hockey…not so much. Dinner is a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, poke loin with Penzy’s Northwest seasoning, sweet N.O.T. and green beans.

Well, he’d smash a bowl, plus Spot does enjoy watching the birdies, too.

Evening all. Gym was gymmed, had enough time to change to my swimmin’ togs and spend a half-hour in the whirlpool. Home and had my Big Bowl O’salad with a banana and applesauce, so moderately healthy feeding (even the pudding cups for dessert were sugar-free). NIce night, still 68F and it will approach 80F tomorrow, so the colder air seems to have departed this location. But rain is forecast for next weekend, so we’ll see.

Taters, most of my Amazon stuff ends up delivered by USPS but the larger boxes on left at my front door and the smaller stuff in my mailbox, so no big thing. Glad the new mower performs mowage well. I thought about doing the first mowage of the year today, but given it’s still March, I decided to wait for next Sunday and do First Mowage in April–just something fundamentally wrong to this old Ohio lad in mowing a yard in March (I usually do Last Mow the first week in November).

My favorite part as a kid was when the priest wouid chant: “Dominus vobiscum” and I respond as loudly as possible “Et cum spiritu tuo”. About the only Latin I remember from it.

Nut, read your note on parents taking care of the grandkins and location…location…location… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Cookie, I learned (painfully) awhile ago never to scratch a cat’s belly.

FCM, geez, that’s not a boat, it’s a permanent hobby…hope TV lady shows up.

Sensei, I know what you mean about your mother. I loved but she was never the easiest person to deal with… And keeping up with kids either singly on in packs is exhausting.

And that’s all for now. Couple You Tubes to watch and then see what the night brings. Take care now.

I’ll bet Spot would having a steel drum solo outside his door for entertainment.

The main reason the possums are pooping right next to my glass doors is because I put bird seed there. The fuzzbutts think that its absolutely no problem if I have to sweep the ramp before I get my coffee, the show must go on!

She always looks so happy and content, such a lucky little lady

That looks really good. Too bad Hubs wouldn’t like it, potatoes have too many carbs.

I’ve come to the decision that I am not going to spend the rest of my married life eating a gout diet. Being the lazy sort, I already like to cook with leftovers in mind. Tonight he ate a salad and a baked chicken breast while I had shrimp alfredo. Both freeze well so its not like I’ll be cooking two different meals every night, I’ll just be heating stuff up in two pans, not one.

I call my mother (who lives on the other side of the country) on a regular basis. I ran away from too much “family togetherness” back when I was 17. I get it.

I’m glad your mother is feeling better, but considering how she spent last night, I’d think it was normal that she would want to rest all day today.

Honestly, I’m still worn out from yesterday and that didn’t include suffering from some pretty severe pain around the eyes.

So I’ve got my stash organized fairly well now. My thread bin was getting kinda hard to close which might indicate to some that I should stop buying thread. Not being a quitter, I dug around and noticed that I also had not thread things in the bin, so I went to the dollar store and bought another bin.

Now all of my needles (OMG, HTF did I end up with so many needles and threaders?), threaders, keepers, holders are in the new bin along with my beads and lace, and the thread bin has room for at least another two years of shopping.

This is good because I’m going back to the embroidery shop on Tuesday.

As a teen singing in the church choir, we generally sang traditional hymns in Latin for Easter mass. Of course, some of us younger members would sing Tantum ergo makes your hair grow during practice, much to the chagrin of the cantor.

It is good. As a diabetic, the potatoes that are in it don’t tend to jack up my BG, but I’ve made it with sweet potatoes too and it works.

As a single person, I dished out one serving of soup for Tuesday’s supper and put the rest in three cartons in the freezer so’s I don’t have to eat the same thing for the better part of the week.

There are two of us so we have a full sized upright freezer

The sad part is that it took me months to get it fully stocked and now he can’t/won’t eat most of it and I’m not a big fan of meat. I’ll probably end up eating most of that stuff just because it would bother me to throw it out.

And then there is all of the uncooked meat. Sigh.

So when I went to the store for cream, I saw that they had eggs for 75 cents a dozen. They were a day past the “sell by” date so I bought three dozen and brought them home and hard-boiled them because Hubs will eat three a day and I wanted a few for me.

I read that possums liked hard boiled eggs so I chunked up a couple and put them out with the grapes in the back yard. Harry’s raven flew over and ate them all so I’ve learned to wait until full dark to try that again. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow, but I’m worried about attracting raccoons. Or bears.

Or Mothman, though I 'spect he will be more interested in the milkweed then chicken eggs. I just don’t want him around because he made Jolene yowl which woke us up and upset George. George is sensitive and needs his sleep.

One last check in before the week turns over. We slept in until seven-thirty, when Chloé began barking to be let out. Mrs Magill had mentioned that she wanted brunch, so after we’d lazed about for an hour, I made some biscuits and gravy. Showering occured. Next was necessary chores.

Mrs Magill tackled the basement for a bit. It had been quite clean and organized until the flood last June, when we rushed to get everything out of the wet. It’s a disaster area since then.I did a whole house vacuum. Our vacuum that we’d bought when we moved here finally died mid-cleaning a couple of weeks ago. I broke out the new one, and quickly realized the old sucked… becuase it didn’t suck enough. I now have clean floors.

Squeaky managed to completely dissappear as soon as I asked him to dust, only to reappear a couple of hours later to go to work. I am not well pleased with my son right now.

My anxiety levels are peaking right now. Tennessee is considering a bill that would require providers to report any gender affirming[1] care to the state. I realize they’re trying to scare people like me. You know what? It’s fucking working. I hadn’t had an intrusive thought in weeks until today. Nice work, assholes.

Right. I think I’ll watch some Taskmaster and then hit the hay. Hopefully, I can sleep.

  1. I still can’t bring myself to type the T word. ↩︎

Howdy!
It was a lazy Sunday here, with moka pot Bustelo prepared Cubano followed by an all-day but intermittent straightening of the house and preparation of the car. Tomorrow the princess dog and I will drive to the airport to pick up Quilter Housemate, who’s been gone for two months.

This is exciting. I hope you’ll get to see babies this summer.

UFOs! Now I get it.

Granddaddy was running in the Florida panhandle. He had about a dozen older brothers so I assume some of them were still-operators. From my memory of his stories, by the sixties he was running factory-label liquor and I’m thinking he got it off a boat-- that was a long time ago and I was very young. Looking back, my parents would have had a conniption fit if they knew Granddaddy was telling us that stuff.

I had no idea. It wasn’t in the local paper on Thursday. Typical.
What a shame. The pictures are heartbreaking.

I must have been frazzled or still wound up from the protest or something. First I should have proofread better, because what I meant was that I didn’t want to “drive to Rome.” Rome isn’t so bad, but I’m not fond of the trip there and back.

And then! The post to Hippie! With all the exclamation points!-- egad, how embarrassing.

@Chefguy Re: the belly scratch-- you go first! I see some devilment in that face.

(((mollie))) I’ll do my best to talk you down again. Keep in mind what I said before, plus, there would be a SCOTUS challenge (HIPAA anyone?) that would take several years to resolve. Keeping appendages crossed nonetheless.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 51 degrees Ferret Height(10.558 Centipedes).

{{{{Mollie}}}}

Wonder whether Harry’s raven or Onan will become morbidly obese first?

Did you know that’s the Holy Spirit’s phone number? Et cum Spirit 220.

Good morning!

My mother looks a little better today. I had a really strange dream that I was captured by the Chinese army and taken prisoner. However, as they walked me back, they weren’t guarding me well. We went past the US Embassy and I just ran inside.

I then ran out the back entrance and found myself in a small city that, in my dream, was supposed to be near my home.

I was walking around and some Japanese people found me, and insisted that I stay with them at community home. They wound up being some sort of religious group (of course) and I left with a couple of them to do something.

That was when I woke up. Normally I forget my dreams but I remembered this one.

Sensei, that was quite a multi-national wild dream.
