“Lincoln Vale of the Everglades”
OMG, I haven’t thought of that show since it was on, probably! But the only specific thing I remember about it (which popped into my head IMMEDIATELY when I read that) is the theme song.
He’s the man on patrol in the everglades
Yeah, and riding in an air boat, too.
No one seems to remember “The Guns of Will Sonnet” but me.
Nope, the animation was Western style.
I don’t think it was that. I’m pretty sure I remember an episode with Matthew (or maybe another one of the Gospel writers) sitting under a tree or something like that.
This thing seemed to be on all the time, in the early 1960’s: it was about a boy, home alone. He looks out the wndow, and watches the raindrops fall-then a puddle forms, and a milkweed see flies by-and turns into a dancer. The boy is mesmerized by all of this-clearly he is entering some kind of dream. Anyway-anybody remember this?
I remember The Guns Of Will Sonnet- starring Walter Brennan!
“No brag, just fact.”
Rex Trailer and Sgt. Billy on Boomtown!
(I had an autographed Rex Trailer photo on my childhood wall)
I seemed to remember a game show that was on in the 80’s where kids played arcade games to win prizes. They had to get a certain score or get to a certain level within a time limit.
I have a vinyl record of some of the songs from this show.
I’m not kidding.
“Grandpa Goes to Washington” starring Jack Albertson and Larry Linville. I remember loving the theme song.
“Tenspeed and Brownshoe” with Jeff Goldblum and Ben Vereen
“Duck Factory” with Jim Carrey and Geena Davis
“House Calls” with Wayne Rogers and Lynn Redgrave
“FM” with Robert Hays and Patricia Richardson
(Not that old but still seems to be forgotten): “Grosse Pointe” on the W.B.
By the way, anyone remember Hattytown Tales? I’ve only ever met one person who remembers this, and he was from Australia.
Peter Morris: Are these the two dogs you’re thinking of?
She was in that?
From around the same time: a TAXI-ish show about bike messengers. Can’t remember the title.
Video Power. I used to watch that show every goddamn morning and I loved it. At the end, the winning kid got to run around some maze in a velcro suit and stick video games to himself and at the time that was all I wanted in life.
There was Double Rush with Robert Pastorelli (Eldon from Murphy Brown) and David Arquette. But that was 11 years later than Duck Factory, not around the same time.
Oh yes! I loved that show! And it had Chuck Connors!
Speaking of short-lived Fox shows, here’s two more fairly obscure ones:
Good Grief! starring Howie Mandel as a madcap funeral director. Used to laugh my ass off at that show!
Woops! A member of the exclusive “one episode” club. I actually saw that episode, and let me tell you, “awful” doesn’t even begin to do it justice.
And speaking of Howie Mandel, does anybody remember Laugh Trax? Syndicated sketch comedy show, aired in NY on channel 11. IMDB has it only going one episode, but I seem to remember more.
That might have been it and I had my timing wrong.
Froggy Gremlin! My hero from those days. That was how Andy introduced Froggy and the sound guy would stick in a “twoioioioioing” sound.
Froggy got poor old Andy into a world of shit every week. I loved it.
Does anybody else remember “Throb”? It was a syndicated sitcom (I don’t think it ever aired on a network), and starred the actress who played Corrine on “Soap” (she had a baby that was possessed by the devil on that show.) Throb referred to a small-time record label, and “Corrine” (or whatever her name on that show was) was an A&R rep.
This is another show of which I remember only that specific thing.
It was Manfred’s song. The rhythm probably has a name, but I don’t know it. It’s like the bass line of the Habanera from Carmen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKnR9VIK3MA#t=2m15s. So “Migh-ty” would be on the first 2 bass notes, and the “umph” would be on the 5th note (a repeat of the first bass note).
My memory’s very hazy on this, but as best I can recall he only sings the song once in some long time period, then he sleeps for another unusually long period.
