(Old) Spot the Lunatic - A Cat MMP

wow! baklava is fairly memorable. lovely nutty honey treat.

shoe, hurray on the raise and gift! it is good when your efforts are appreciated.

last night we had a building wide meeting on elevator replacement. this is the next big budget buster for the building. the elevators are so old that when they need a part it has to be made, they are not stock items.

there will be much discussion in the next few months of funding it.

tonight’s meeting is on the lobby holiday decor and when to deploy the decor. i hope the crew like the tree toppers i chose.

Two people were killed. One woman was in a homeless encampment in Lynnwood, and another woman was killed as she was taking a shower in her home in Bellevue.

We usually get hit hard up here, but we escaped the damage this time. Wifey, RN could not get to a patient in Sudden Valley (between Bellingham and Lake Whatcom) because of fallen trees, but most of the area is fine.

VPN is down again. I sent a Teams message to the Collections manager and a Collections person, since they start working as early as I do. They confirmed that they cannot log in, so I replied to the Teams thread from yesterday. Another cow-orker confirmed that she could not connect either.

Shoe, conga rats on the raise. The money is nice. The recognition is nicer.

Woke up and thought it’s chilly in here. The thermostat seems to be busticated. Stuck at 65. The furnace guy will be out after I get my allergy shots. The furnace was replaced 2 weeks ago but the thermostat was fine. Or so we thought….

Yesterday a place I’d applied a while ago e mailed me. I e mailed back to let them know I can’t work nights. So now they want an interview.:crossed_fingers::hamburger:

The Dr had me go for a bone density test this summer and the results showed a little ostapenia. So I’m supposed to take calcium with D3. Hard to remember everyday so I appreciate your post; just took one. Perhaps like the bin reminders, pill reminders could help some of us.
And I do have a pillbox, it’s even close to the computer, but sometimes, I just forget.

When I got up and looked out the window, I was surprised to see the garage and house roofs and lawn covered with snow. Seems early.

When I leave the house, I do something called 1234.
1 Do I have my phone?
2 Do I have my keys?
3 Do I have my wallet?
4 Do I have a mask?
I’ve shared this with family and some friends. Whenever someone forgets something, like daughter’s friend did when she left her phone at our house, I say, “guess you forgot to do 1234”
Your 1234 may be something different but most will include keys, wallet and phone.

Do want a review of said dish and if great, a recipe would be nice.

Also CON-GA-RATS on your great work ethic being recognized and rewarded!!! :champagne: :confetti_ball:
omgosh, if you’re old, what am I? (and many of the rest of us)
Getting justified recognition IS big news. I’m happy for you.
And WOW, birthday gift actually arrived, a bit late but still, and great communication from Dad. Your cup runneth over.

Have to run to get ready for Tai Chi; will catch you all later. Stay warm and safe!

Good morning all. Slept past 7am and awoke to a cool day (42F and only getting to 54F) so heater is getting some work to do. Actually remembered a dream, I was in some type of humongous fancy restaurant and I kept moving around trying to find my friends and the waiter and woke up before getting fed. So I had pancakes and bacon with an apple to start the day off right. Trash has been picked up so I need to get that bin back in the garage and may head off to the Mart of Wal to do a little shopping. Rest of the day is for my own choosing, probably gym time and reading.

shoe, that was an accumulation of good news, may the days keep going that way.

nellie, glad your stuff finally made it. No problem with the code, I take it… Hope the neighbors are charming, albeit the arguing couple does not sound promising, but hopefully it was a one-off.

boo fae, be safe and hope travel becomes les of a hassle.

Sticky Buns, hope the conversation with the principal goes the way you want it to.

swampy, happy breaking fast post-medical stuff.

FCM, sounds like a dirty job (cleaning the smoker), hope it isn’t too bad.

lucky, soup anytime sounds good, enjoy the drive and survive the dentist…

Coppertone, one of these interviews is going to be it…

Whew, lot of typing for a morning missive; must add some additional calories to compensate while catching up on my You Tubes. Then Wal-Mart and beyond! Take care all.

Since I can’t log in to irk and I won’t be down again until December 20th, I think I’ll go down to Burien to get the new laptop I was issued. The program I need to use isn’t working, but the IT guy says he can fix it remotely. I’ve sent a message to El Jefe to tell him my plan.

(December 20th is our Christmas party. It’s in Bellevue, which is closer than Burien. I don’t want to go to the orifice and then backtrack to the party, and there’s always the chance of more heavy weather between now and then. I do not like being disconnected from my irk!)

Can you create a reminder on Outlook? I use that for a lot of things since I hit the computer first thing in the morning.

There aren’t too many here who are older than I am. Cookie is, and and MetalMouse, and Bumba when he shows up. But I’ll be 71 in January - can anyone else beat that? It was weird in my last job when I did the math and realized I was old enough to be grandmother to my office mate. (I was 40 years older than he was.)

It’s done, and it wasn’t as bad as I’d anticipated. I decided to check the manufacturer’s instructions, which made it a lot easier - just wipe down the interior with a wet cloth. The rest of the pieces soaked in hot soapy water and were mostly easy to clean. Everything is drying now and will soon be reassembled.

MIL is still abed - sleeping I assume. I don’t want to be the one to check. It’s closing in on lunch time and I see some leftover pasta in my near future. But for the moment, I need a breather.

I am home from school. It was an ok experience. It looks like I won’t have much planning time to start, but hopefully I will eventually. The deeply humorous, but not funny at all, part was when I was helping a student in their classroom. There were only 8 kids in the room and they were working on language arts and they were terrible, terrible, terrible. I was literally sitting there taking deep breaths to calm myself and curb my desire to start telling them how to behave. I mean, they were loud, rude, and so disrespectful to their teacher. I was flabbergasted. Thank goodness, that’s only my deal for 60 minutes per week.

Afternoon all. Had the HVAC guy stop by to do a quarterly inspection, things are working well, he suggested a surge protector and additional attic insulation, but no high-pressure pitch, so I put it off until 2025. Then did the Wal-Mart run and stopped on a whim at the Dollar Tree store, where I picked up the last large glass mug they had on display, so my collection is now 12 of them (each one a $1.25). Then ate lunch and am now sitting here contemplating putting on one of my new gym shorts and giving it a tryout.

Sticky Buns, how old are the kids; I’m finding with 8-9 year olds that their attention spans can be pretty short if they aren’t kept active. Good luck.

Picked up my friend and went to Tai Chi. A new student and he is a retired oncology nurse. He said that he used to care for stem cell transplant patients so someone who understands the situation. I’m starting to be able to remember the moves before the instructor voices them.

Dropped my friend off. She opened the door as she was talking and just keep talking and talking. After about half an hour or so, she finally decided to get out, because as she said, if she didn’t, the next thing we’d know it would be dinnertime. (Good thing I was wearing my down coat)

Then I went to Belle Tire since the low tire pressure signal went on as I was coming home yesterday late afternoon. Yup, left rear was down to 24 pounds. The other 3 were down about 4-6 pounds with the cold weather so I inflated them all. One of the workers poked his head around the corner and I asked him about getting the tire with the slow leak fixed. He said no appointment was needed, just bring it in when I have some time to spare. So, we’ll drop it off on our way to the Butterfly movie tomorrow, then we’ll have lunch in a converted train car, then do our weekly shopping at Kroger. Hopefully the tire will be fixed by then.

Need to do dishes, pay the storage fee and probably workout on the NuStep. Oh, Cup of China Grand Prix figure skating starts today and I figured out I can watch it on peacock. So, I’ll likely do that this evening.

I cannot confirm or deny. :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m pretty sure that hippie can, I’m thinking that possibly BBBoo and nellie might be able to and maybe JtC.
I think that Cupcake was born in the same year as you.

I’m glad I looked it up…today is drag the recycling bin to the curb day.

I’m going to need to get a real job, like working for someone else for the first time in 20 years. My plans didn’t work. I do have skills, so that’s a plus. Got an interview tomorrow. Then I need to liquidate my shop. Anyone need a table saw?

BBBoo does have a bit on me, but I’m older than Cupcake.

After my visit with the vampire tomorrow, I need to run to Wal-Mart. Since it will be early, I hope it’ll be a quick in and out, but it is Firday so who knows. I also need to fill my car ahead of my lunch date on Sunday. Plus it’s laundry day! Much excitement awaits me on the morrow.

IT’S SNOWING!!!

PSA: do not leave your vape in the car when it is freezing at night The oil gets too thick to heat properly.

A slightly(?) less chaotic day. I zinged my finger cutting a box. The way management acted, you’d think I amputated an arm, and was bleeding out. I did my Senior Day shopping afterwards, now time for a quick nap.

Spot curls up in my comforter. Usually by dragging it off me, then I drag it back. Which then degenerates into hand eating and somebody getting the Vulcan Death Grip.

  1. Pants?

I’m dangerously close to being the whippersnapper here, at least when MG isn’t here
< jumps up and down on virtual Mumper lawns >

Thanks for the bin report. And good luck on the job search.

Not sure if you’re older than I am (turned 55 in August). My DH, @Bob_Blaylock, turned 62 last week.

I think I’m pretty close to you, early 50s?. I believe GodBod is the real youngster.

75 in January.

Short birthday; only lasted a minute.

  It was my sixty-second birthday.

Not I – you’re four months older than I am.
