(Old) Things I (we?) should buy in the MMP

Well, the 2-hour recall update took 5 hours, due to the shop computer and car not getting along, the dealership was very apologetic but couldn’t give me a discount since the recall cost me nothing in the first place. Wasn’t too upset, was able to read all of the Sunday NY Times, go through 3 weeks of mail (it was in my mailbox this morning, must have been dropped off late Saturday or sometime Sunday), and ate lots of popcorn. Stopped at Jersey Mikes and used a Jedi Mind Trick to get 2 sammiches for the price of one (actually used my points for one free sammich and bought the other). Have eaten one and will save the other for later tonight after I get back from an evening at the gym. So guess brain cells are beginning to function again. Almost 80F now so very nice weather and a repeat tomorrow but rain is due Wednesday.

…hopefully not on any major highways… And I zinc you are using that word like it was intended, not like it is used normally (whatever normal is…)

Taters, you and FCM make me happy I am not a gardener of any sort…way to much work.

red, on-line they do give you the option to get it delivered to your home now. Like I noted before, it was there when I checked this morning post-posting.

BBBoo, should have thought of Amazon, but needed it for my vacation and the Wal of Mart was only 3 miles away. Worked fine for the trip, we’ll see how long it goes.

Mollie, Shoe, I am going to have to shop more at Aldi, it sounds like fun.

FCM, I’m probably going to need a landscaper for my yard before I move on in a couple of years…doubt it will be cheap…

Nut, glad Dad is home.

Mollie, hope the epidural went fine (and I see that it did hurt some, take care of yourself).

JtC, hope hubs can stick to the new diet (but no beer for an ex-biker?!?!).

red, that’s why I avoid Dollar Stores (It’s Dollar General and Dollar Tree around here), hard to get out with just what you went in for.

lucky, may the ENT appointment do you well.

And all caught up and sammich in the digestive track, so will watch a little TV and then go to the gym for a couple hours, sweat some weight off and then come back to my second Jersey MIke’s sammich and put it back on. And just got a call from the handyman, they will be here early on Wednesday to fix up the house stuff that got worked over by the plumbing work. So a fairly busy week in store, it appears.

I am very sensitive to novocaine, it takes a while to take affect, but the it lasts a long time. My left leg is still numb, except where it hurts. But, since it was quite painful that means he got the right spot, so tomorrow everything should be fine.

FCD shared this with me - cracked me right up!!!

Howdy Y’all! The day turned out to be quite nice so we had some quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon. I got on my float for a few minutes, but had to give up as the water is still really cool. Nappage, day drinkin’ and sup were also accomplished.

Yanker first, welcome back! Second hooray for your son the pilot! :airplane:

Lucky hope the ear thing gets figured out soonest.

Cookie glad the gout has abated. We have those motion sensor night lights in both bathrooms. I guess that counts as high techy tech.

Taters hope you had a good time at lunch with former co-irkers.

shoe happy name day!

nuts huzzah for dad gettin’ sprung from the horsepistol!

Mollie sorry you’re ouchie but glad the epidural is doin’ its thang.

MetalMouse never had to wait that long for a recall thing before. Guess it’s good to know whatever needed it got fixed.

MOOOOOOM the Savannah Bananas are insane!

I look at them as the 5¢ and dime of the 21rst century.

On our afternoon TCB walk, Nelson got to meet a new neighbor puppy. She’s all of 8 weeks old and her mama is a GSD / corgi mix (dad’s a travlin’ dog). Her name is Rhea and she’s adorbs, what with her soft puppy fur and all. She and Nelson got along well. She’s about half Nelson’s size (for now) but I figure if her father wasn’t a giant, she’ll be a mid-sized dog.

Just to reinforce that this is something you should not pass up (money back!), you might take a look at “Tax credit for people on social security” on line.

Up from naptime, having an Old Fashioned and watching hockey. dinner tonight is bacon cheeseburger, fries, and corn on the cob(with Old Bay n’ butter).

Tie one to Otis.

Nut, yay for Dad getting sprung!

{{{{Mollie}}}}

Oh yeah, that sort of thing isn’t new, but its only been in the last couple of years that the machines were affordable for hobbyists. When I first became aware of the machines 4-5 years ago, they were just under 3 grand. Now they are half that.

If we ever get those fabled DOGE/tariff checks, invest in a litter robot. I know they are breathtakingly expensive, but they are so worth it and even save money on litter. (Not nearly enough to pay for a new machine, but you know…)

Dang about the neighbor’s chickens, FCM. That’s not a nice way to meet anyone.

I’m quite sure it was on their list.

I hope he is feeling much better!

I also keep buying seeds despite not knowing if I can actually grow them here. I keep telling myself I have to stop, but they don’t cost much and don’t take up much room in my cheese cave so the acquiring continues.

I’m so happy you were able to get in so soon, do keep us posted. and keep ME posted on your dahlia, I’m only now learning about them.

He has been happier in his life, but the gout pain put the fear of gawd into him.

And he’s not an ex-biker, he’s got a Harley in the carport. You can’t call him an ex-Marine either, because once a Marine, always a Marine even though its been forty years past.

He’s planning on heading out for a ride tomorrow, so I’m thinking I’ll go to the Nitro nursery again. I want another fushia and I want to talk to the owner about bushes and shrubs. Now that I know that Harry has a post-hole shovel and a grandkid willing to put holes in our yard for twenty each, I’m making plans for the front fence line.

Other than that, not a lot has happened. Hubs thinks Jolene is enjoying the feeder in the back yard enough that he is talking about a permanent pole for one. That’s a surprise, he’s always complained about the mess in the past.

He’s changed so much since moving here. I don’t think he even knows, but I’ve been happily surprised at the changes. He’s just so much more relaxed and I don’t think he even knows how stressed we both used to be in AZ.

So that’s about it for, I think I should kill a few monsters before bed, Hubs is wanting to run pits with me and I need more levels before I won’t die just by logging into his world. (its a game thing, difficulty depends on the party leader and if the leader is level 100 and you are level 3…well you will die.)

And now my leg is back. My calf is still a bit sore along the nerve.

This is doctor week. Tomorrow is the dermatologist for my annual mole count. I need to have the doctor take a look at the top of my head. I had a scab there last month, but I don’t remember getting any abrasions, and anything that creates a scab on the head would have lead to A LOT of blood, so I should think I’d remember.

It’s doctor week here too. Tomorrow is the podiatrist and Thursday is the dermatologist for a couple of mole biopsies. I’m beginning to think a good share of my contact list is medical types.

Mollie, red, thanks for the reminder, I need to schedule my annual checkup soon, last one was 9 May 25 so sometime after that, as medicare gets cranky if you try to do it before a full year has passed. And have to fill out the 20+ page information packet they want the Doctors to have when you come in…oh joy.

FCM, ah, the Savannah Bananas…hope they show up around here, I find the usual minor-league baseball here a bit boring, but those characters are never boring…

Swampy, the way they described it is the download from their system to my car wasn’t taking, my car sent me a ‘panic alert’ like it was being molested or something (cars is weird these days…). Guess they finally figured it out, I can’t tell if there is any difference or not.

Just thinking about the mechanics of that mating… :exploding_head:

JtC, glad to hear that Hubs (and you too) are happy in West Virginny. Happy Monster-Slaying!

As for me, did make it to the gym and stayed until nearly 8:30pm, then came home and had the second Jersey Mike’s sammich for dinner. Trying to watch my fluid intake, been urinating a lot the last couple of days, it’s slowed down some today but don’t want to encourage my kidneys any more than necessary. Will be off to be shortly and we’ll see how far I can get before the Bladder Alert goes off in my head. Catch y’all on 2sDay.

We can hope Grandma Dog was the GSD.

I rewatched with literal tears of laughter. Thank you so much for sharing a moment of utter hilarity.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s 59 degrees Ferret Height(15.00 Centipedes) outside.

A trebuchet and some Barry White.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 52 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 82 and mostly suny. Today is laundry day. I hope I don’t pass out from the excitatement of it all. It’s also Cinco de Mayo and taco Tuesday. In honor of both, we shall day drink margaritas and have tacos 'n fixin’s for sup. OLÈ!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, forward into the laundry room! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/52f with a predicted high of 14c/58f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “Today is merely fucking average. Like plain yogurt or a salad without fucking dressing.”

That sounds like a very productive day, and something that would have been fascinating to watch. Congrats to your son on the new very fancy chair, a well-deserved proud parent moment!

The last thing you need is a sunburned noggin!

I am sure they could manage that, I could also get the infamous ninja scuttlies to give them some training.

That’s good news, hopefully he can keep you updated by himself without you having to get your info via your mum.

{{{{{Mollie}}}}} hope you’re feeling a bit less hurty today.

Moooooom I was sorry to hear about the incident with Otis and the chickens, I’m glad that the neighbours seemed to take it well and eventually accepted payment for replacement birds.

Yesterday was a very quiet day here, we had a nice lie-in after our busy weekend, tended to the needs of cats and generally did not do much else at all. We went to do the grocery shopping so that all got put away, 'im indoors made Chinese chicken curry and egg-fried rice for dinner, and we watched a bit more of a Korean drama before I went to bed. The most important job of the day was for me to empty the rubbish and then haul the biiiig bin out to the kerb for today’s collection.

I was up just before the alarm went off today, fed the cats and cleaned litter trays, then went to haul the biiiiig bin back to where it lives when it’s not on the kerb. The bin men also took a small bag of batteries that I left out for them. Batteries can’t go into the normal recycling bin, but they will take them if you leave them out in a clear plastic bag on top of the bin, and they can go with either normal household rubbish or the recycling bin. All the dustcarts now have a little hopper on the side specifically for batteries.

Working from home today, and I have a bunch of fiddly jobs to do. I also has a grrrr! because I did a load of work on Friday that went onto a shared spreadsheet, and someone else has managed to lose it all so I’ve had to do it all over again. Well, I say “all over again”, I was sensible enough to keep a copy of my own stuff, so I just copied it back on. Still have a grrrr! though.

Today is primary election day here in Indiana, where each party chooses its candidates for the main show in November. Indiana is one of the states that drew the president’s ire a while back, and he vowed vengeance against incumbent candidates of his own party. We’ll see today how that comes out.

I need to buy a new thermos to keep warm water for drinking mate, but the old traditional Lumilagro company that made them has moved all its production to China and then the wife of the owner went on twitter to mock the people who lost their jobs due to that move…
So, we kinda don’t want to buy Lumilagro thermos anymore for some reason, I’m thinking Stanley may be? we didn’t use to buy imported thermos to support the national industry but that… doesn’t apply anymore.

Morning all. Bladder behaved (at least until 5am) and I slept on until 8am, so should be well-rested for the day. Need to buy some additional paint for the house-irk tomorrow and move some stuff around so the workers can get at things, and a short bank stop, but that should be doable and will get a little more gym time in to re-establish the pattern. Might also get the travel gifts I bought off to brother and Sis-in-Law hopefully in time for his Birthday (9th) and Mom Day (10th). Should be a nice day, high about 78F but rain is due tonight and tomorrow so there is that to look forward to.

Happy laundry day, swampy

boofae, I remember one meeting where we had to take minutes and three days and 20+ pages in someone (not me) hit the wrong key and deleted it all and we had to retype it from paper copies we had. Not fun.

Knots, our primary is in 2 weeks, have no idea who or what is on the ballot, guess I should do a little research.

Frodo (did we give you a Mumper name yet?), understand completely why you switched loyalties, hope a new thermos works out.

And into 2sDay I go with a bellyful of Rice Krispies and a Apple to top it off. Have a good one all.

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. Once that’s done, I’ll get sheveled for my podiatrist appointment later. Nelson will get a ride to Sis’ house for a playdate, given that the doctor is in her neighborhood.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!
