(Old) Toss it on the grill in the MMP

77º Ferret Height/25º Centipede up here. Mrs. L.A. just turned the box fan up from low to medium.

Not a lot of chili left, but we might get two bowls out of it. I put the slow-cooker pot into the dishwasher, and I’m doing the dishes now. Kat fud is out of the fridge so it’s not to cold for the kitties at 16:00.

Few things more irritating than walking aways past the stop you were waiting at, then have the bus zoom by, and watch it get to the next stop minutes before you could walk there. Lather rinse repeat as you slowly wend your way towards the destination 5 busses have already gotten to.

At least when I fell out of the chaise, we had just finished and I was standing up while still sorta winded. She was just sleeping when she rolled over.

It did hurt pretty good this morning, but the swelling and pain is going down even as the bruises are flowering nicely. So evidently no real damage. But yeah, she coulda hit her head or broken her arm or. …

We had a good laugh about this today.

I joked about “Hello, Mr. Jones? Yes, you don’t know me but my name is LSLGuy and I’m here at an emergency room 40 miles from your house with your wife. She’s naked and has a broken arm. You might want to come get her. No, I didn’t hurt her; rather the opposite.”

I already have donated quite a bit. There will be more trips to Goodwill and Smart Art though.

September. But I really want to get things that aren’t going to be used before then packed. I run out of energy easily at this point, so about an hour a day is gentle.

I got the winter clothing boxed up and two large Rubbermaid totes consolidated to make other use of one of them. The warm weather clothing will go with me in my car in the tote that I use as a laundry basket and my duffel bag. I also boxed up the blankets before running out of boxes. Another trip to the likker sto’ is in order tomorrow.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated and all went well. Pentecost is a major feast day, so we did a figure eight procession around the church. Well, around the nave. That’s down the center aisle, turn left, up the side aisle, back down the center aisle, turn right, up the other side aisle, back down the center aisle and to the Altar. Well, the Altar party to the Altar, the choir goes right and over to where they hang out. As Verger I led the procession. To my credit no one got lost. There was cake after cause Pentecost is the birthday of the church. We decided to go fried chikin plates from the Pubic Sto’ which we brought back to da cave to eat. That resulted in a food coma. Now we be chillin’. Thus is the news from swampland.

I cleaned, did 2 loads of laundry, and cleaned Spot’s box. I hung up the new bird feeder and filled it. I did a quick Teeter run, since my lettuce looked sad. Now it’s Wisconsin Old Fashioned, poke loin and baked **N.O.T.*s for dinner.

Indeed

I’d say y’all need to become furries, just for the extra padding.

If he starts complaining about the food quality, you’ll know you’ve been hired as Inferior Primate Servant.

And you took less than 40 years, so you’re one up on Moses.

But it’s on her Permanent Record, right?

My new Magnum P.I. aloha shirt just arrived. I bought one in 2017, in XXL. In 2020 I replaced with an XL. The new one is a Large, and it fits great. The XL will be donated at the church.

And a good early evening all. Seven loads of laundry pretty much occupied my day, did make it to Olive Garden and did some bathroom cleaning and picked up a couple plaques of my soccer teams from the past season along with watching the European Nations Cup…(spoiler, Portugal Won). Will get a couple sammiches here in a little bit and give my brother a call, and that will wind up this day–albeit I might also get ambitious enough to put the dishes away…

FCM, same thing, I’m watching how much bread I have and trying to finish any perishables before I leave next Monday…really need to get things ready to go. Never had trouble sleeping on a cruise, even in 30-ft seas in the Drake Passage.

Pilot, good advice on the Pre-Check, will probably do it once I get back. Hope it is still painless… And just how big a bed do you have?

cookie, just did a few words on the NY Times sunday puzzle, will work more on it tonight. HappyB-day to daughter, and yeah, your 50’s ain’t bad, and right now I
am enjoying my 7th decade.

Oopsie, so glad you had a good time (even if the subject was a bit melancholy). And we need good folks like you on the front lines for voting, thanks for volunteering. Have a good visit with ‘nephew’.

I can remember doing some of his routines with my brother in the car when going somewhere with my parents, and we had a bunch of LP’s by him…he was truly a very funny man but also a very evil one…humans can be jsut as weird as cats…

lily, not having AC is no fun,I keep mine close to 76F but notice when the heat outside overwhelms it a bit.

JtC, will try to work up the ambition to get the ladder out for the fans…tomorrow.

swampy, a nice procession, as long as everyone remembers to turn the right way.

flyboy, nice shirt.

And time to get some munchies and jump on the phone with brother. Take care all.

I should point out that I do not own a pair of UDT shorts like Magnum wore.

I rode a horse today for the first time in 8 weeks. Not my own. She can be spicy and I’m not taking any chances. I rode solid dependable Astro who spooked at the cat. Sigh.

I graduated grammar school in 1971.

I graduated high school in 1974.

I can’t see any reason for you to bother. You’ve been happy for decades without switching your fans, why fix what isn’t broken?

@purplehorseshoe I didn’t miss your post and meant to address it, but just the idea of no AC was so shocking that I had to that I had to go out and watch the forest for a while. Then I got distracted by watching the birds flying in and out of the lowering fog and just plumb forgot at that moment.

Hurray for being in a saddle again. Dang about the spooking.

I once saw Magnum happening IRL. They rented our apartment building and told us we all had to close our curtains that day. Of course the meant that I took the day off and my friends and I all drank wine and smoked weed while sneaking peeks through the mini-blinds.

See…that’s kind of a bragging thing, “I wore him out so much he couldn’t stand on his own two feet”. Falling out of bed while innocently sleeping is just embarrassing.

And yes, I’m glad that neither of you were hurt, you are right, once we get past a certain age, we just do not bounce nearly as well as we did when we were ten.

So my news is for the birds. We were getting bird strikes on our windows in AZ and someone suggested scribbling on the windows with yellow highlighter to warn the birds off. I did that and it helped somewhat.

We’ve been getting bird strikes on our windows here so I grabbed my yellow highlighter and put a bunch of big x’s on the outside of the windows and it worked. I can see a few lines in the right light, but we haven’t had a bird fly into our windows since.

Sticks, you asked about novocaine making us shaky. Oddly, after my dentist gives me the shot, she shakes my lip and cheek for about a minute. I never had a dentist do that before.

That had “bless your hearts” written all over it.

Y’all are part of the reason my “suggested for you” list gets weird.

Coupla years ago, someone posted that Amazon sells palm fronds and those burnt ashes to put a cross on your forehead, I went, “Nawww … ferrealz?” … confirmed they do indeed, and then my Amazon “Selected For You!” got really super weird for weeks.

Jeebus, you can’t blur that out?

(J/K I was being a funny-butt, as Grandma Co-worker would say. I say smart-ass, but quietly under my breath.)

Had to google. Learned a thing. Did not want to learn the thing, will likely flush it from memory along with the accompanying images.

Horses are almost as weird as cats.

IKR? My brain could not handle the concept.

Walker, Texas Ranger filmed an episode at my high school. Wanna say, my sophomore year?

I’d make a “he’s really short!” joke, but we all know he could kick my ass.

Did you have to use Google Maps? :d&r:

Yeah, I’m still getting ads for collapsable stools (TYVM Mooooooom )

Church was great. Worship need not be quiet and formal.
It is so nice to have 20 year old friends, why must seniors only talk with other seniors?
Training meeting tomorrow.

What’s weird about aloha shirts?

Speaking of Magnum, a high school friend met Tom Selleck and had a picture taken with him. Then she used that pic as her Christmas card! Cracked me up!

Earlier this evening, it got really dark and windy, and big drops of rain fell for 12… 13 minutes, then nothing. Then not long ago, there was much thunder and precip. Quiet now, tho. Oooops - distant thunder.

And so ends the weekend.

/Looks proud

I am getting more diplomatic in my old age, aren’t I? Odd because now my field of fucks has been fallow for many years.

I might have been paying rent, but we all acted like sophomores that day too!

He did have that special twinkle about him!

I’m super sad about Greta, she was very brave and I hope she died fast.

I’m probably going to start limiting my online time again. My heart is hurting so much and the news is soo very bad.

Are we now?

LOL, that’s because you and Hubs are smart about it! My parents, oofff… I’ll just say that despite quite liking smoked turkey, I just can’t eat it anymore.

Your memory is enviable. Yes, lawn tractor and car both required expensive repairs. And now the lawn tractor does again, but the underlying problem was entirely my fault. It’s gonna be a lean month. A good time to live out of the freezer and the pantry!

Mrs. L.A. had Friday’s leftover lemongrass chicken from the Thai restaurant. She ate it cold, and she said it was good. I had the rest of her chicken korma fro the Indian restaurant earlier in the week, plus the broccoli she didn’t want from her Thai meal. Good dinner.

Last I looked, it was 70º Ferret Height. I feel very warm. I certainly have become acclimatised to PNW weather. Back in L.A. I’d be wearing a flight jacket!
