What’s the difference between Old and New Comedy?

Old comedy seems to be based upon things happening very quickly. The newest comedy (e.g. Space Ghost, Sealab) seems to be based around non-sequiturs.

Also what does the OP mean by Old Comedy. Is this Greek Comedy\ Shakespeare\Chaplin\Skeleton or what?
