Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/42f with a predicted high of 7c/45f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “This weather is fucking awesome if you just experienced winter, but it’s fucking terrible if summer just ended.” And, of course, partly cloudy means it’s partly sunny!
Moooom scary stuff about FCD’s nosebleed. I’m glad your house no longer resembles a crime scene, hope you managed to get everything cleaned up afterwards.
Nellie I hope you get some relief from your back pain sooner rather than later.
Sounds like it’s well-deserved after a day full of people!
Of course, through snow, probably barefoot, and I’m sure I had to fight off a pack of ravening wolves along the way ![]()
Mrs LA is a saint for doing that, it must be utterly heartbreaking.
I’m fortunate to live and work in places that have pretty good transport links so if one fails, I have back-up options. My commute to work is roughly 15 miles at the shortest distance and takes at least 1.5hrs on a good day. It involves a walk to the bus stop, bus to town, walk to the station, train to Big City, train from Big City to campus, and a walk to my building. Any number of things can go wrong!
I am sorry for your daughter, it’s a very good thing she’s been doing. I’m also sorry for you, it is hard keeping a lid on the anger at so much injustice.
That’s a good joke!
She understands your needs, and is doing her best to help you get through a very difficult time. What a little star!
Yesterday’s commute home was a gift from the Travel Gods, so I hope they are still smiling on me today. We are going to Hereford to see our last band of the year (that’s 228 in total for me, ‘im indoors scored a bit higher because he managed to see a few while he was working away from home), and meeting up with some friends.
That means setting up the automated feeders for the cats so that they don’t waste away overnight, as we won’t be home until tomorrow afternoon. We’re not leaving the house until after lunch so the cats will have had breakfast, second breakfast and lunch already
For now, it’s time to drink more tea and think about what I need to do before we leave.
