(Old) Winter Solstice MMP

Waves! Hey everyone! I’ve been reading, but I hate posting on my phone and haven’t had much time to sit in front of my desktop.

Go @Baker’s church! We used to ride with the Patriot Guard and we all practiced singing really LOUD in case we were lucky enough to have a confrontation with those horrible people. Didn’t happen because they were too cowardly to picket Veteran’s funerals out this way.

I managed to get some cookie making done yesterday and I am learning how to use my new stand mixer. The Russian tea cookies I made yesterday were much better than the last batch and tonight I watched almost all of them leave with BFF’s daughters…despite them all laugh/complaining about getting covered with powdered sugar.

A few days ago, when we were delivering our Christmas Angel gifts to the fire department, hubs noticed that there were still four cards left, so we did end up going to the mall again. It sucked. Thankfully the handwriting on the cards was clear enough that we didn’t have to guess about sizes, so that was helpful.

Today Hubs cousin and husband, two adult kids and two almost adult grands showed up earlier than expected, but not really. I’ve been married into that family for almost 40 years, I expected them to show up early or late but not on time, so I was happy that they showed up on the day I was expecting. I fed them a nice brunch and then we convoyed to their super cute B&B in the Prescott Pines area.

Once we pointed them to the dispensary and the booze sto and were sure they were happy, we left them to unwind and headed to my BFF’s place for dinner and prezzies.

We got our fill of littles ripping paper off gifts and had an adult exchange. I came home with some adult sippy mugs and chocolate milk bombs. I made hubs keep the scented candle he got and it is now in his bathroom with a lighter.

I was able to unload an unneeded calendar, I ordered one that day when it was a Mumper topic of conversation, but then our housekeeper brought us one from her last cruise. It was super funny when I was explaining why we didn’t need the one I had chosen cause all of those young mothers were nodding their heads about how of course I had to use the one I was gifted so housekeeper could see it.

So…looking at the time, I’m guessing someone will be starting a new MMP shortly. That someone won’t be me, there is relaxing to do before we head to Prescott for the Christmas touristy stuff and then to a dressy dinner. I bought hubs some Christmas suspenders with blinking lights. As long as I wait until he’s dozing on his recliner, I will be able to replace his boring suspenders with some nice remote controlled ones. No reason to bother him with putting yet another gadget in his pocket, I’ll just hold on to it for him.
