Title says it all, I’m slightly closer to the record now.
World’s oldest man dies peacefully in his sleep.
The trouble with being the world’s oldest living person is that you seldom get to hold the title for long.
According to the link, he was only the world’s oldest living MAN when he died aged 112. The world’s oldest living PERSON is a Japanese woman who turned 117 last January.
Forgot that women had their own category. So only men move up a notch.
He didn’t look a day over 90.
Seriously, he looked pretty good, full head of hair, he didn’t have that shrunken “dried-apple” look that some super-old people get.
If we allow categories, I hold the record for the world’s oldest living person in my house.
I once held the record as the youngest person in the world.
I hold the record for oldest, youngest, tallest, shortest, heaviest, lightest, wealthiest, and poorest person living in my house (simultaneously).
So do I - by exactly 20 years.
The cat, in cat years, is catching up.
This keeps happening - I hope I never get to be the holder, the position seems cursed.
Wow god bless him!!!
It must be hard living that long… Everyone you know is basically gone, must be very lonely…
I know three people who lived to 100. Two of them outlived one of their children, and those children were pretty old when they died-- retired, grandparents. Still, has to be hard to lose a child under any circumstances.
You overcorrected there! All but a few dozen women also move up a notch. Maybe fewer, depending on how many of them can read.
When my mom died, a few years ago, it was unsettling to realize that I was the oldest extant family member. My parents were only children, I their oldest child. Freaky.
No kidding, me too! record-holder fistbump
Unlike the passengers in his car…
I’ll be here all week, tip your waitress, and try the veal.
