The Guinness Book of World Records has a cateogy for Oldest Mother, but the copy I have (which is admittedly a bit out of date) lacks a category for Oldest Father.
My google searching skills don’t seem to be turned up anything conclusive. Does anyone have any idea?
According to this and other sources, the record holder was one Les Colley of western Victoria, who fathered a child at the ripe old age of 93 and change!
It sticks in my mind from years back that “the oldest man to father a child was 108”.
IIRC it was in an old copy of the Guinness Book of Records, at least 15 years or more old.
Here it is not uncommon for sheikhs to father children well into their eighties. The head of Emirates Airline, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, was born in the year of his father’s death. Saeed was around 80 when he died.
