Oldies Experts: Trying to Find Name of a Rockabilly / Gospel Song

I heard a song on KFXM oldies radio last night around midnight central time. It was a fast rockabilly song with a train beat, and the lyrics had something to do with “cool water.” (Not the cowboy song though.)

I remember something about:
"I asked her where she got that cool cool water,
She got it from the river
and she got it from the well … "

It sounded like it might have originally been a gospel song. After each verse the song modulates up a half step. To me it sounded like late 50’s Buddy Knox, with little “Whoa-oh’s” thrown in and some great background harmony singers.

Can ya’ll help me out?

Woman From Liberia by Jimmie Rodgers. They played Tucumcari right after. Great songs, I had never heard those before.

This song was also covered across the pond by the UK group Unit 4+2, who had a hit with “Concrete and Clay.”
