Looking for a song

Trying to find a song that used to play on an easy listening channel in the early 1990’s. I thought the song was by James Taylor. The only distinctive Lyric I remember was the word Jaguar. Maybe tuning up her Jaguar?? I think the song was about a lady starting over in life. Any help would be appreciated,

Can you remember which instruments? Electric vs acoustic guitar, were there drums, orchestra backing, etc? Do you remember the beat?

If folksy and acoustic like James Taylor… possibly “Just a Vehicle” by David Wilcox, from How Did You Find Me Here (1989)?

“The warm water beads as it runs down the curves/of the beautiful surface so tan/she’s polishing the Jaguar again”

Today I learned that there are (at least) two musicians named David Wilcox.

Thanks Max_S.

I have never heard of him and that’s a great song. And he seems to have plenty of others in a long career.

33 years later and this song still brings tears to my eyes. It reminds me of my ex wife. My ex currently is in the advanced stages of dementia. When we divorced 33 years ago she set out to reinvent herself. She got herself back in shape, styled up her wardrobe and set out into a world she knew nothing about. On one side I was jealous and resentful and the other part of me was rooting for her. Sadly none of it worked out as she planned but we remained close friends for life.
