Oldies lyric dilemna

Gees, I fell so under-prepared to ask this question, but I need some help finding a very well know oldies song title.

My problem is beyond the “mmm” sounds I can’t for the life of me remember the first few words the guy sings. So… I will just give facts and then I will atte-mpt to write the a-hem “lyrics”.

Ok, there are at least two guys singing the first minute of this song in a harmonious fashion where one dude starts the 1st “layer” of the song and then the other guy will harmonize with him in the 2nd “layer” also snapping their fingers to the tempo that will there-after ensue… still with me? lol The snapping fingers is about once per second… if anyone is so inclined to let me know the actual term for this tempo pace on top of sheet music I’d also be grateful (ex. 3:4, 2:1, 5:5) .

** Hold everything!! - I made a link :stuck_out_tongue: I think this will clear everything up. Just click the gray “download” button, no worries I’m the one that needs your help- the file is completely safe.

Good job. I totally recognize that song. Sadly, I’m also totally drawing a blank. But someone will recognize it immediately and we’ll all be embarrassed.

What you got there is Little Bitty Pretty One.

T H A N K Y O U!.. head explodes … I knew it was sth like “itty bitty blah blah”… lol… anyway that’s a wrap, hey while I’m here anybody know about that tempo question I asked about in the O.P. ? =D

ETA: Bobby Day, Thurston Harris, Frankie Lymon, Clyde McPhatter, et al.

Little bitty pretty one
Come on and talk-a to me
A-lovey dovey dovey one
Come sit on my knee

Tell you a story
Happened long time ago
A-little bitty pretty one
I’ve been watchin’ you grow

Thinktank, you nailed that thing, Dude! Time, pitch, everything. Sounded like the damn record.

Love that filedropper way of communicating musical fragments and tunes.

Nicely done.
