I was born in 1975, but I am very fortunate that my mom had great taste in music and always had an album (or 8-track) playing at home and in the car. I inherited her love of Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, James Taylor and even Anne Murray. But from my earliest memories, I thought Olivia Newton-John was the most stunningly beautiful woman in the world with the voice of an angel!
Despite the fact that I knew I was gay from the age of 5, just a photo of ONJ made my heart flutter! Kinsey rated sexual orientation on a scale from 0-6, with 0 being Exclusively Heterosexual and 6 being Exclusively Homosexual. I’m a solid 5 on the Kinsey Scale and Olivia is one of the few women that do it for me…or, as a friend of mine would say, she’s one of the “chicks I’d switch for”! =)
Anyway, every September 26th, I remember that it’s ONJ’s birthday the moment I see the calendar. But I was (and still am) amazed that she turned 65 yesterday and she still looks AMAZING! LINK to 2012 photo
Have to agree. I know several women who are still legit head-turners in their late 50s, and they all look like older versions of their younger selves. ONJ looks like someone else, and not in a good way. I could say the same thing about the lovely Raquel, unfortunately.
Oh man, I was like 14 years old when I first saw ONJ on TV. She was in a duo called Pat and Olivia then, and must have been barely 18 herself. This was the heyday of the miniskirt. She and her partner were in seriously short mini dresses, with fur trim around the hem.
I have never recovered.
Fun fact. She is the granddaughter of quantum physics pioneer Max Born.
Maybe, in an alternate universe, I …
Well, you can tell that ONJ is not exactly a spring chicken anymore, but she does look very nice for her age! I’ve always been nuts about her. Lovely woman!
