Omar

And I must not read it often enough. I just now saw what you were meaning:

Beer warehouse shooter long complained of racism

Must acknowledge this. Bravo.

Indeed! I didn’t catch that. There may be other subtleties I didn’t see.

For example, when

General Omar Bradley comin’!

was first posted, I didn’t know the significance of “Omar comin’!” so I only thought of it as a vote for Bradley.

Luckily, An Gadaí saw I had missed the reference and alerted me to it.

Others may wish to do so even now if I was too dull to see one like that.

Khayyam.

I thought of Omar Sharif and Omar Khayyam almost simultaneously.

Omar…an old friend from my high school days.

It’s funny how the Dope invades your life sometimes. I saw Inglourious Basterds in the theater today, for about the 5th or 6th time, but I hadn’t seen it since last year. One of the characters is named Omar and as soon as I heard it, I thought, Oh, I wonder if anyone mentioned this guy in that thread.

Get home, search. Nope.

For those who’ve seen the movie but can’t place him, when Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) and Donny Donowitz, aka “The Bear Jew” (Eli Roth) and Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) attend the premiere, there’s another Basterd with them as an “Italian assistant” to help with Operation Kino. He’s seen in this scene, standing between Christoph Waltz and Eli Roth. That character is Omar Ulmer, played by an actor named, I kid you not, Omar Doom.

Great story. There’s no doubt that the Dope gets in your head with all sorts of little stuff like that.

It’s my uncle’s name.

Omar Sharif and Omar Bradley, in that order.

Khalid’s (guy I’m seeing) little brother who just got out of prison. Real cute, seems nice.

Before that it would have been some Spanish-speaking dude who was in love with me when I was 15 and working at McDonald’s. Because those are the only two Omars I recall knowing.

Oh, then there’s Omar Epps. I’d have his babies, I suppose.

The first thing to come to my mind is the faces of the 3 people I know named Omar.

Just noticed this new thread going up in GD: The trial of Omar Khadr.

I guess I need to do a new count of non-Omar Little folks.

Why has this thread gone on for over a month?

Why am I posting to it?

Why OMAR? Why not RALPH?

Should I be waiting for the MARGARET thread? (Hurry up – I want to post the lyrics to an old Livingston Taylor song…)

All very good questions. The answers will be revealed in time.

You should start the MARGARET thread yourself. Straightaway. Now!

“C’mon now don’t make me huff 'n puff!”

How’s about your taking a crack at some answers that make sense to you? I’ll expand on (or correct) your impressions if needed. Fair enough?

There are clues in the thread as to why it’s here. The OP tries to explain a little. The next post or two from me are for further explanation.

See what you can figure out from those clues.

Psssst! That’s a quote from Omar, one of my favorite characters (not giving you a hard time).

Omar - a good source for black market items - weapons and the like.

A black market biomod canister is good for upgrading. Just get the tissue sample first to get the discount.

Likewise, I was yanking your chain, too!

Love that BR-549, as well, Junior.
