This question is for all people with Omega watches, or perhaps even for a watch maker among us. I have a problem with my reduced Speedmaster (bought second hand, probably a couple of years old, don’t know the history). It has worked fine for six months, but now sometimes the hour hands stop running. The second hand keeps going (so the mechanism does’t stop, it keeps ticking), but the hour hands don’t run. After I’ve adjsuted the hands it runs for a while, but after a couple of hours they stop again. Has anyone else had this problem? Can I do anything to stop this, or does it need servicing? If so, about how much what would this cost me?
Steven. Is your watch a self-winding or an auto-wind?
In either case, I don’t think that you’re gonna get it done for less than about $100. That from someone who knows a bit more than the average person about watch repair.
By the way, as it’s an Omega, it is probably worth it.
Samclem, it’s an auto-wind. And it is a genuine one, Vandal, I had it checked by an Omega dealer after I bought it. A shame you didn’t come across it in your seven months, that would have really helped. Astro, I’ll post my question at that forum, thanks.
