Omg hypocritical nazi mods!

…Wasn’t sure where to share this, but I found it pretty funny.

I smiled.

That said, I do find it slightly unfair when the mods take parting shots in their thread-closing posts, even where I agree with the tone and content of such shots. If you’re wearing the Mod Hat, IMHO it should be kept strictly business-like.

Well is it actually a parting shot and not just a statement of reason for why the thread is closed? And if it’s both, how is one supposed to close a troll thread without telling the OP he’s been convicted of living-under-bridges-like behaviour?

Agreed. The thread was closed because obvious trolling was obvious. However, that does not mean that public troll-shaming is to be encouraged. The proper response is to simply alert a Mod, who may use your clever phrasing in the inevitable shut-down post.

I don’t see the hypocrisy.

Rules say you can’t call “troll” except in The Pit.

Rules allow Mods to close threads and they usually state why.

Although a true troll knows no shame.

Like a fat man in a Speedo, the shaming is for our amusement and is not expected to produce any change in the person’s behaviour.

Yup. The Official answer will be that the mod said the THREAD was trolling, not that the poster who started the thread was a troll. There’s a difference, you know.

It’s a difference that makes no difference in the real world.

No differences on a mb thread make a difference in the real world so that difference’s lack of real difference is no different than anything else’s difference being no different.

That’s a different matter altogether.

That’s a different matter.

You’re just jealous that they can do that (heck, we all are).

You were too quick - it would have been more awesome if we could have had a massive simulpost of that.

That’s a different matter.

Like that! Yeah, that’s the spirit!

Does it really matter?

I’m in the dark about this matter.

It doesn’t matter.

Does it anti-matter?

Auntie Matter? Love that old broad.
