I stopped reading the article at that point to stop the increasing urge to throw my laptop at the wall.
I refrain from reading these kinds of articles because I would be throwing whatever is close by at whatever surface available. I imagine at my next doctor appointment I will need blood pressure medication.
That’s par for the course when reading any news article in these here interesting times, what made it worse in this particular case is that not only were the news being reported horrible, the writer couldn’t call ethnic cleansing/genocide by it’s name and hid cowardly behind “Some scholars”, the fucking bastard.

This other aspect of this, of course Trump wants to wipe out the Palestinians, he’s said as much in the past that’s what people voted for him, or failed to vote for Harris, were supporting.
But it’s not like he actually cares about the Israeli people either, he’s kinda friendly with his buddy Netenyahu and happy to do what he says as long as he flatters him enough (can you imagine the amount of brown nosing that went on in that meeting at the Whitehouse?). Oh and he’s happy to indulge the apocalyptic fantasies involving Israel his evangelical supporters have (always something you want to see in the soon to be octogenarian in charge of the world’s biggest nuclear arsenal). Buts that’s as far it goes, he doesn’t care if the hostages die, or their drawn into another long unwinnable war. People who voted for Trump because they thought he supports Israel were only moderately less deluded than those who didn’t vote for Harris because they thought it couldnt get any worse for the Palestinians.
That’s not what he told the Arabs/Palestinians in Michigan.
They truly thought the orange man would be better than Harris for the Palestinians, boy are they getting a rude awakening.
Some of them are actually doubling down and say DJT is still better for them. Go figure.

Basically, that mentality is that America deserves what’s coming to us, for not simply stopping Bibi’s war from the start. That the Dems were “wronger” because they could have sided with the Palestinian cause but did not.

You can justify literally anything by saying “The other choice would have been worse”.
See, it’s rhetoric now, versus actual actions, so the actions were worse. Except Trump shows every indication he will attempt to execute the rhetoric.
And who knows what China, Russia, N.Korea and Iran (and any number of other bad actors) would get up to while the world’s distracted by the chaos this would spark off?
Plus, no one seems to be taking into consideration the repercussions it could cause in Jordan. They have a huge Palestinian population. If the King allows this to happen there will be a major uprising and possible overthrow of the monarchy. The chaos resulting from that would be really, really bad.
