Trump supports Israel because of the Christian Zionists in his base, about 40 million of them
And
There are a huge number of Americans who think any dead Muslim is a good Muslim.
Most of whom, as I’ve also said already, are expecting war in the Middle East, because they’re expecting the Apocalypse; which they believe is A Very Good Thing.
This is not, IMO, supportive of anybody actually living in Israel; or for that matter of the continuance of Israel as a functional homeland for any Jews.
Completely agree. In fact, it should be quite offensive to the Jews, who are basically being used to hurry along a prophecy that results in their destruction.
That said, most Israelis I know are happy to take their tourist money and laugh at them behind their backs.
Yeah, and I suspect that’s what Netanyahu thinks he can pull off with Trump. I don’t think it’s going to end well, for either of them (let alone for everybody else in the region, and possibly on the planet.)
Yeah; they don’t care, because they don’t believe in the prophecy. However while their attitude may have made sense in the short term it’s helped enable the rise to power of people who are dangerous to both Israel and the world in general. Short term thinking in action.
