It will be interesting to see when some start leaving because they can’t handle the craziness. A lot more true believers in the administration this time but some will not be able to deal with it.
Why wouldn’t he? He wouldn’t be the first nor the last leader to order a genocide. It’d be a way to make Trump happy, a lot of his own supporters happy, and to finally grab all that lebensraum at once.

Israel is in a perpetual existential survival mode. They’ll do whatever it takes to survive, and that’s become especially egregious under Netanyahu which led directly to the Gaza crisis.*
As for “push[ing] the people out of Gaza”, mass deportations of Jews out of Germany and the occupied territories was the Nazis’ original plan. It was only after that didn’t work that the exterminations began. This is how genocides begin – one horrible, unthinkable idea that quickly becomes thinkable after all, and paves the way for normalizing an even more horrific one. This insidious escalation is the real menace of Trump.
* ETA: That’s not meant as a criticism. If your very existence is under perpetual attack, then you’re naturally going to be in a perpetual survival mode.
