OMGosh, FFOTUS just announced US to sponsor ethnic cleansing in Gaza

We have that already. It’s called Atlantic City.

Remember that this isn’t an “X is a distraction from Y” strategy, it’s an “Everything is a distraction from everything else” strategy. That’s Bannon’s “flood the zone” plan - try everything at once and see how much actually gets through.

Oh yeah? What are you going to do? Start your own casino in your Gaza Strip and get all your little friends to come? I’d like to see that.

I realise this is Trump, and subtlies evade him, but the current residents (and those remaining after his sponsored decimation) are Muslim.

Just going to suggest, into the wild ether of the internet where most of his interest exists, aside from Russian prostitutes, that Muslims frown on gambling, so the West Bank is not ideal casino territory.

I just heard on NBC that the US and Israel are coming up with a plan for Gaza residents to leave voluntarily. The word ‘voluntarily’ I think has a mixed meaning when it’s being enforced. I don’t trust the use of that word. It has too much bureaucracy woven in it to mean actually voluntary. But the alternative phrasing I can think of would make me sound like I’ve got something inserted in an orifice.

He’s failed at casinos before; he wouldn’t really care if the casino was profitable, as long as he got to pocket millions or billions from the whole process of stealing the land and building it. It’s always scam with him.

Hahahahahahha…
…hahahahaha!!

(Thanks, I needed a good laugh today.)

Good point.

Also this.

How I’m seeing Trump’s general approach to governing (and it definitely applies here):

Good night, Westley. Good work. Sleep well. I’ll most likely kill you in the morning.

The Princess Bride

Does it ever yield results? Sure. And a blowtorch can be an effective treatment for athlete’s foot.

He reiterated the plan this morning (After Rubio and other tried to talk it back):

The fact is unlike domestic policy the president has pretty much free reign over foreign policy. So if Trump wants to do this, and Netenyahu wants this, then its gonna happen regardless of how spectacularly awful an idea it is.

But hey we got rid of Genocide Joe though, so good work “single issue: Gaza” voters!

Also one of the countless terrible ideas floating round the Trump orbit is that the US should hand over foreign military interventions to private mercenaries (which purely coincidentally would mean handing over billions of taxpayer money to Trump cronies)

My assumption is this is part of the plan. It may already have started…

Would Congress have to authorise any related expenditure? I doubt if it could be done for free or on anyone else’s money.

You think Netenyahu wants to give up the Gaza Strip to an American resort? I really don’t think so. Even he recognizes it’s an insane idea but could not say so when Trump announced it. That’s the problem; no one can say the emperor has no clothes.

I’m not sure if I posted this before, but an 80s/90s punk/ska band covered this issue.

NSFW lyrics. Propaghandi

Featurng the lyrics,

Not since 9/11, it can be lumped together as part of the “war on terror” and funded without asking Congress for anything. There was some talk of repealing that legislation but I don’t think it was ever done (and as usual Google is no help, as it sucks now)

I mean he clearly doesn’t give a crap about it. The October 7th attacks were possible because he reprioritized the Gaza strip: letting it stew with minimal troops on the border while he concentrated on other things like Lebanon. If Trumps plan let’s him go back to that he would love it.

Seeing as they are close allies and birds of a feather I’d assume this is some fuckery Trump and Netenyahu came up with together. Not that Trump is not capable of just pulling this out of his ass and just springing it on Netenyahu, but I wouldn’t bank on that. Saying “oh, this is just some crazy shit Trump is saying that will never happen”, ignores the way the foreign policy works post 9/11. What the president says goes.

I’ve heard a few – including (former Trump 1.0 Chief of Staff) Mick Mulvaney – say that the way Trump worded this whole ‘Gaza’ thing, initially, was eerily reminiscent of how Jared Kushner commonly speaks/spoke about the subject.

Huh? Many Muslim countries have casinos

Who is also even closer to Netenyahu than Trump, as well as being the champion of this “use mercenaries for foreign military intervention” BS. So I would definitely not assume this is just some crap Trump says as a distraction that will never happen.

The interaction between Little Marco and trump will be fun to watch play out. How much humiliation can he take? Explaining the idiot, only to have him publicly contradict you, or just ignore you. What other half-assed normies are there in this administration? There’ll be some squirming ahead for them.

Hey, if it wipes out the current residents and Bibi gets a nice cut of the money, he’ll happily sign on to the plan and tell his constituents he’s brought peace and prosperity to the region.
