“It’s hard to be religious when certain people are never incinerated by bolts of lightning.”
― Bill Watterson
If they truly believed it would be destroyed, they wouldn’t care about deductions.
I posted that same story in the evil religious MF thread. In the Yahoo! article I linked, someone asked in the comments why the WBC folks went to Hawaii, the place they believed would be destroyed. My response was, “Someone else’s prayers were answered?”
Hate to say this, but the eloquent statement by Westboro doesn’t mention anything about destruction of Hawaii specifically occurring on Sunday August 6th.
Supposedly, the anointed of the WBC were going to make appearances at Hawaiian churches to issue a Warning, much as they did back in 2008.
So yeah, Hawaii will be indubitably destroyed for its wickedness. It’s just taking longer than they thought.
If nothing else, it’ll be toast when the sun becomes a red giant in a few billion years.
Then there’s this winner who shot an 8yo neighbor kid because the little girl made too much noise outside.

Going public with your “self-love journey” is creepy enough, but this surpasses it.
Our field spaniel is into butt-sniffing but is not allowed to do so in bookstores.
For those who initially missed it and were baffled by who he was replying to, @Jackmannii’s “this” was a link. Here it is in more obvious form:
This is a story of small-town politics at its finest, although there are certainly first-amendment ramifications, not to mention a judge who appears to have overstepped her bounds.
A local restaurant owner in Marion, Kansas (population about 2,000) recently applied for a liquor license for a catering business she wants to start. Her ex sent some damning information to the local newspaper and mayor, which stated that the restaurant owner had been driving without a valid driver’s license, which may have been cause to deny the liquor license. The newspaper verified the info but decided not to publish it, but the restaurant owner accused the paper of trying to smear her name and steal her identity. The police chief sided with her and ordered a search and seizure of all electronic devices from the newspaper, including computers, servers, and cell phones. The judge signed off on the search warrant.

Oh, crap, I didn’t see that one. I’ll take my comments over there.
Thanks.
I don’t want to know what they may be saying about the wildfires.
In Marion, Kansas, a well-placed woman’s driver’s license had been suspended but she continued to drive; someone knew about it and leaked the info to the local press. Which was doing an investigation to see if they could determine the source of this information. Had not put that info into print. The woman in question learned, somehow, that the paper had this information and alleged that they’d committed identity theft in order to acquire it. Newspaper responded to those charges. She apparently then called in some credits she had with the local police and judicial folks and put in motion that a search warrant was issued and the police busted in at the newspaper office and at the private homes of the reporters and journalist staffer, seized computers and cell phones and whatnot. One of the publishers was 98 and died, apparently from the stress of the invasion.
And freedom of the press is in the toilet in Marion KS.
Psst. Look about 4 posts above your own. With cites even.
Well, in my defense, it’s an issue that should get as much exposure as possible…
(but yeah…)
You’re probably thinking he’s a Florida man but he’s not. He’s from Indiana.
Yeah, I know its just a coincidence plus numbers (if you predict disaster 1,000 times one of these times your going to be right), but to those sorts of people who believed in prophesy it sure would look the WBC had a direct line to god. It will unfortunately probably be a big boost to the recruitment and retention efforts.
