Omnibus Evil MFers in the news thread

“It was something to honor her legacy and honor her memory … and it was something for them to feel comfortable,” [County Supervisor] Martinez said at a Jan. 28 county Parks and Culture Committee meeting. "And what we got in exchange was a flurry of racist emails saying that 'why should Black folks get this when white folks don’t get this?

What did they find in North Carolina?

huh??

Dirty limerick.

Tried to link the search, but it’s not working. Google “in north carolina” limerick.

I’ll take a pass. It really doesn’t feel like a situation in need of comedy.

Or you could have just been clearer. (“What did they find in North Carolina?” was supposed to mean something to everyone?)

And, yes, jokes are probably inappropriate.

For some reason the fact that they never found her head just seems extra sad.

It doesn’t make her any more dead, but still.

She was almost the same age as my oldest daughter. :frowning:

It would’ve been more appropriate if it had happened on the second date?

Or, ya know, not at all.

Because white women in Wisconsin are being killed and sliced up on dates all the time

Here’s a timely and unhappy update on some evil MFs:

WT everloving fuck?
So the US has joined forces with Islam in allowing honor(or attempted) killings?

I know nothing beyond the cited article, but it seems that the technical details of the specific laws charged didn’t match up with the jury’s understanding of the facts.

Given the ethnicity / religion of the defendants, I’d have sooner expected the jury to wrongly lock them both up forever than wrongly (mostly) acquit them. That’s certainly how the online comments run in the article.

Not so much a person, but a whole fucking community.

What a fucking shithole down south is becoming.

(normally not my source of choice, but pretty safe to assume this story wasn’t entirely concoted or anything.)

Only 40 inhabitants on 150 acres of land - quaint!

Damn that inbred fucker in the white shirt.

I haven’t read into that yet, but it’s been popping up lately. There should be actual news reports out there.

ETA, I didn’t read it, but here’s one:

Normally an insult, twenty quatloos says buddy would’ve considered it the ultimate compliment.

150 acres being a quarter section, what these folks have is a hobby farm. A hippy commune for racist ignoramuses.

For sure it’s a dangerous idea and the sooner they’re laughed out of existence the better.

“Expanding into Missouri” sounds like they control several counties near the state border and intend to grow their area of control right across that border. Reality is more like they hope to buy a hobby farm in a nearby state and persuade some other racist ignoramuses to populate their second franchised commune.

As someone who lived in urban MO for 20 years but is not a MO native, I can safely say there’s no shortage of racist ignoramus yahoos in both urban and rural MO. But mostly rural MO.

According to the first article, the prosecution suspected honor killing, but couldn’t find any actual evidence of it. Now, that might mean that they’re just ignoring the evidence, or not looking hard enough to find it, but it might also mean that there actually isn’t any evidence of it. And I don’t think prosecutors are allowed to introduce ideas like that without evidence.

Probably key was whatever testimony the victim was willing to give. If she had been willing to testify on the stand that she heard her parents threatening an honor killing, that would have been admissible… but there are lots of reasons why she might not have been willing to testify that.

Yes, and I think the jury reached the correct legal conclusion. There wasn’t enough evidence to prove attempted murder.

They weren’t fully acquitted though, and the dad who attacked her was found guilty of assault and unlawful imprisonment, and is awaiting sentencing where he could spend a couple of years in prison. (The mother was only found guilty of disobeying a court order.) Also, both parents have lost custody of the victim, who is now in foster care (presumably until she’s a legal adult in a year).
