I thought the article was totally worth it for mentioning that Jeffrey Epstein attended the 25th anniversary party for The New York Observer newspaper, owned by Jared Kushner.
Nope! There are plenty of reasons why one might oppose the actions of Israel, some of which involve antisemitism and others do not.
Matt Gaetz, I am quite confident, bases his opposition to Israeli actions on his raging antisemitism. As evidenced by incidents like the one linked above.
If you ignore all context, sure, I can see how you’d come to that conclusion.
In context, I was referring to a post that sarcastically claimed that Gaetz was antisemitic yet pro Israel; I pointed out that this isn’t the case, he’s actually very anti Israel, as one would expect of an antisemite like him.
I heard a news story from the radio that some guy on an L in Chicago torched another passenger with propellant over a minor disagreement. I didn’t find an online article otherwise I’d cite.
So you might now, I’m not picking on Chicago; there are regular, almost seemingly scheduled, fights on the San Diego trolleys I ride here.
As some see it, it’s every day in the hood. Yet if I were the guy’s brother, I’d show him my Anger Control workbook and say “Anticipate what sets you off and think it through beforehand. Leave the butane and fireplace starter at home!”
Yes, there was apparently some sort of argument between a man and a woman on the Blue Line in the Loop area (Clark and Lake if I recall correctly - it’s been on the TV news since last night). At some point the man poured “a liquid” over the woman and set her on fire. Last report is that she’s still alive but with burns over 50% of her body, some third degree.
Overnight video surfaced of someone attempting to set fire to City Hall with what is described as a “resemblance” to the man in question.
And no, this was not in the “hood”. Not that it matters - we shouldn’t be dismissive of crimes “in the hood” because crime is crime no matter where it occurs. Also, even in the worst areas of Chicago one person setting another on fire is exceeding rare, one might call it an aberration.
AI-powered teddy bear for kids pulled from the market after it turns out it wants to tell your children how to start fires, where to find knives, and how to tie up your sexual partners (which it suggests may include family members).
