Omnibus Evil MFers in the news thread

Telegram sex crime ring leader sentenced to life imprisonment.

It’s short, so check out the article. Yeah, he’s an evil one.

What the hell is “quasi-rape”?

*A person who has sexual intercourse with another or commits an indecent act on another by taking advantage of the other’s condition of unconsciousness or inability to resist shall be punished in accordance with Article 297, 297-2, or 298.

I guess in South Korea, rape is when a person has sex forced against their will, and quasi-rape is when they don’t have the ability to resist or give consent.

It has the same penalty as “normal” rape though.

That’s because the cats have always been secretly running the internet.

I have said too much.

Well, it’s too late to take it back meow.

Well, scratch that, then.

Am I reading that right, that part of his sentence was a court-ordered doxing?

It’s a sex offender registry. Odd wording for it, though.

OpenAI is being sued by the family of a teen who was driven to suicide by ChatGPT.

They say they can’t be held responsible because killing yourself is a TOS violation.

Hah!

Perhaps we can call that Catch-21 in honor of the current century?

Pete Hegseth ordered the Navy to kill the survivors of one of his boat strikes in the Caribbean.

This is murder.

Here’s a non-paywalled link from CNN.

The US military is going to follow orders. I hope people realize that soon enough.

I also hope they realize that probably were very eager to do it. Killers like to kill.

Former Navy Chief Warrant Officer Jim Wright (of Stonekettle Station fame) had this to say on Facebook about this:

If you as a fighter pilot shot down an enemy aircraft and the crew ejected and then you went after them in their parachutes, you’d be rightful prosecuted as a war criminal. That was LITERALLY the example used when I went through military training as a Navy Officer on the use of deadly force, unlawful orders, and the rules of war.

This is no different.

If this is true, then the officers and sailors responsible for carrying out these orders have put themselves in the position of being prosecuted for criminal violation of US military and civilian law.

But it does tell you exactly why Republicans are so angry at the military being reminded not to follow unlawful orders.

Perhaps we can recall Mark Kelly to service so he can preside over Hegseth’s court martial.

Enjoyable image, but it would be the professionals in the JAG Corps who’d prosecute, and the judge(s) would also be specially trained and certified military officer attorneys.

IJN officers and crew were tried and convicted exactly for this.

As civilians, I don’t think Hegseth or his boss are subject to court martial, more’s the pity.

Hegseth, as a retired military person, can face a court martial.

Trump, as a draft dodger who has never served anyone but himself, is not subject to one.

As a member of the cabinet he is subject to impeachment. Unfortunately he is not liable for war crimes as we are not – you know – at war.
