From what I can tell, she had the largest percentage in the primary leading into the runoff.
Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy Johnny Garcia and housing activist Maureen Galindo are competing in the May 26 Democratic primary runoff after neither candidate won a majority in the March primary. Galindo finished first with 29.2% of the vote, while Garcia followed with 27.02%.
So maybe that’s what he’s referring to. That doesn’t mean she’s ahead in the runoff, but it’s accurate to say she was ahead before at least.
Not that I want to defend Zee Shitstorm. He’s the oldest member of my ignore list for a reason. But it’s not like there is no basis for a claim of her being ahead in the polls at some point, at least.
(As far as I can tell, this public wacky BS came out after the initial primary race, so I wouldn’t be shocked if she’s now really far behind in the runoff.)
I’m a lot more interested in the idea of the RW bastards paying to run wacky can’t-win shills in lotsa D primaries than I am the specifics of whether and when Galindo was ahead of Garcia or vice versa. And whether shitstorm was accurately relaying responsible reporting or was just making shit up.
This was the link from ZS’s original post. I’m pretty sure he didn’t read far enough to notice that the GOP is funding her, thus undercutting his “Democrats are antisemitic” line of attack. Once she’s in the slammer she may experience regret for the first time in her life.
The lede pic in the article (the one visible in the preview) was obviously cherry-picked a bit from whatever shots were taken. But it’s a great one.
Here’s the detached, semi-bored, but fully attentive woman defense attorney thinking idly of going to lunch soon. And the woman defendant whose face betrays her totally psychopathic mind. And her calm rejection of the reality that she’s being / been sentenced to die in prison some 30-40 years hence.
There’s no mistaking who is who even if you know nothing else about them. Well done Mr/Ms photographer person!
