Whoever altered these photos to undermine the female wrestler’s protest in India. The “smile” part of it is especially galling and disquieting.
Jeffrey Epstein tried to send a letter to Larry Nasser before he died. I shudder to think if these two monsters had become buddies during their lives before prison. While no one should needlessly suffer in America’s broken prison system…I’m not too upset about Epstein’s complaints or his death.
I saw the video of when parents of the Nasser victims got to give their statements. One father asked for five minutes alone with the creep and when the judge said that couldn’t be done it was like"One minute?"
Am I understanding this correctly? The company will pay the $6 billion, go thru bankruptcy, rename themselves and continue operating. Meanwhile, the owners of the company are still worth $11 billion and are protected from lawsuits. If so, that’s not right. This is going to be barely a hiccup to them. Are they at least going to face criminal charges in the near future? Let them spend their billions while serving life behind bars for all the death their greed caused.
I’ve concluded that in most political systems, law are written by, or at least on behalf of, the rich.
Hence the word “privilege”, which literally means “private law”.

I imagine this affair might put a dent in donations to Harvard’s Anatomical Gift program. People don’t expect that their body parts will wind up on display at Kat’s Creepy Creations*, or be used to make vests.
