Omnibus Evil MFers in the news thread

In an earlier case (where a 19-month old unvaccinated child died of meningitis), smoothies also figured in the magickal healing regimen.

The father, whose conviction on neglect-related charges was overturned on appeal, was at last report working as an executive at a family “nutritional” supplement firm and viewed himself as a fighter against the Medical Establishment.

Gotta have priorities.

This is quite disturbing. Last year a 93-year-old woman was killed in her home in Augusta, Kansas. Yesterday, two 14-year-old girls were arrested for murder in that case. Few details have been released.

God I just read a text about two gay people getting beaten by employees for kissing in a Washingtin DC Shake Shack. I can’t believe that could really have happened.

Since you couldn’t be bothered to look for any kind of a cite, here’s one:

The shocking thing is that “Christian Dingus” describes the victim, not the attacker.

I apologize for not citing; it’s not cool to be flaky. I get caught up in flotsam so was trying to nail it down to reality.

I just wonder what century the Shake Shack employees think we live in. I feel neglectful if backlash to homophobic behavior is still this blatant sometimes. I could associate more with this organization that addresses this kind of problem.

The preview box didn’t include where this was. So I figured it was someplace prone to hard-right behavior, e.g. Dallas or the like. Upon following the link I see it was in Washington DC. Color me surprised.

If Shake Shack’s PR BS Stand For Something Good | Shake Shack is to be believed, these (probably former) employees are way out where the corp doesn’t want them. And that was before they ended up on national TV committing a hate crime.

Not sure if this is evil or stupid…
Man has surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. The hospital removes a section of his skull, loses it, charges him $19k for a synthetic replacement, which became infected. He owes the hospital nearly $150k, so far.

Also, it’s not so much that they “lost” the bone flap, as it is they don’t know which one is his amongst the other non labeled bone flaps. I assume that means there’s going to be more lawsuits.

“Guess what, we fucked up and you’re going to suffer horribly for it. Here’s the bill to fix it.”

You should not be. There are fuckwits everywhere you go, even in the most laid back of places. There are also decent people everywhere, including the shittiest of shitholes. And quite frankly, the fuckwits in decent places tend to be worse than the ones who live in fuckwitstan.

The funny thing is, if they had said “we fucked up, we’re going to have to make a synthetic one, no charge” this probably wouldn’t even be in the news. But now it’s in the news and we know there’s more of them and if this guy sues and wins, it’s a sure bet the others will as well.

How many fucking pieces of skulls do these people have laying around?

JFC, the nerve of trying to get away with this just boggles my poor brain.

Several. From the article:

there were several bone flaps with incomplete or missing patient identification

And they can’t tell from the shape, whether it fits in the hole or not? Or from DNA or something?

They must be similar enough that they can’t. I have to assume if they could easily tell, like his was a 3x3 square and the other ones were larger and triangular, they’d have just gone with it.

OTOH, maybe they’d rather do this than risk him ending up with some type of host vs graft issue. And, with that, I suppose it’s possible that even if they could tell, the missing ID info is a deal breaker. I have a few doctors/nurses that I see regularly enough that we’re on a first name basis, and they’ll still ask for my birth date before they do anything.

Are they dated at least, maybe that would help? Maybe they still have the hair attached and they could do a check that way?

Fucking hell. I’m laughing at what a stupid god damn thing this is. How hard is it to keep track of skull parts that need to be reused?

From past articles, don’t they need to keep the piece of skull under the patient’s skin, somewhere, to keep it alive? If it’s going to be detached from the body for any length of time. And if it’s not going to be detached for any length of time, how did they get it confused?

Do they have a junk drawer in the ER?

Right, I’m gonna ask for a to go bag if I ever have to have brain surgery there.

What’s not to like about a story of a US Air Force veteran going to fight in the war in Ukraine? Oh, all of this. (The link goes to AOL.)

  1. He’s fighting for Russia
  2. He doesn’t consider himself a traitor.
  3. He’s on the lam for a child porn charge.

One of our best, isn’t he?
