Getting back to Stupid MFers in the news, the one-man hive of scum and villainy that is Piers Morgan got into a spot of bother when, having spent years saying horrible things about Meghan (nee Markle), he decided to double down and continue to say nasty things about her after the Oprah interview in which she revealed that she had been suicidal over her treatment. Morgan also got into a bit of a tiff with his show’s weather presenter Alex Beresford on the subject before storming off in a petulant snit.

The television regulator Ofcom received over 41,000 complaints over Morgan’s assholery, resulting in ITV giving him the boot. We may now expect the usual crowd to whine about “cancel culture”, and for Morgan to immediately get a new show somewhere down on the odious end of the television dial.

I agree, but whose fault is that? It’s a terrible slogan for a good idea.

Agreed. It is a terrible slogan. But we have people hear snippets and make snap judgments and will not be swayed by any information. Same people who cannot accept global warming because it still snows in their hometown. Even when they changed it to Climate Change.

That article is some shoddy journalism. You don’t just report that “excuse” and not explain what her ring has to do with anything.

Why would a wedding ring cause someone to be denied boarding? Don’t most people leave them on when going through the metal detector? Couldn’t the TSA just have done a manual pat-down and used a hand-held metal detector on her?

Maybe Florida officials just don’t want her to stand trial in DC. I don’t think this ploy is going to last long. My wedding ring is made of titanium and it never gets a reaction. So unless her wedding ring is made of high explosives (and that would explain why they won’t cut it off) then it’s completely bogus.

In addition to the other suggestions, maybe we could find Gollum to throw into her cell with her, after convincing him that it is the Precious. Then stand back and see what happens.

The article is reporting what her attorney wrote in a court filing, so there was no opportunity for follow-up questions.
