I think it bolsters the notion that them just ain’t that smart.
There was a bit on Almost Live! I saw about 30 years ago, where John Keister (I think it was) was telling people what they need to know about the Pacific Northwest. He had a map behind him. He said that Oregon was known for making athletic shoes, Washington was known for nuclear weapons from Hanford, and Idaho was known for its White Supremacists. He summed it up, pointing out each state, ‘Nikes, Nukes, and Nazis.’
I miss Almost Live! so much.
Quite some years ago I was reading an article in a church magazine that my mother had. The young pastor, author of the article, served a congregation in Idaho; There was a picture of him in his clerical shirt, blonde, blue eyes, and really muscular. In the article he was addressing the problems of white supremacy and nationalistic militias. He said he’d had problems, because due to his name and appearance a lot of folks assumed he “he was one of them” and acted surprised that he wasn’t as racist as they were.
Didn’t he also just pick up the Idaho state shape and move it into the Gulf of Mexico so it could be geographically where it already is culturally?
That would mean I have to behave myself.
Plan workplace massacree, write it out in detail, call in sick, leaving assault script on desk where boss might notice it.
The suspect was an IraqWar vet with the skills and equipment to do this.
From the article @eschereal just cited:
Jerman suffers from headaches and migraines “constantly,” and has continuously battled depression and PTSD, he said. He told cops he had a traumatic brain injury, along with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, joint pain, and Parkinson’s disease.
“Kevin has a ton of medications that he takes on a daily basis
I’m not at all sure that it’s stupidity that’s the issue here.
I question his sanity, and his math.
One’s in the chamber?
OK I got nuthin’
I’ll understand the damage to him from the TBI, and how I’m sure the VA let him down, but nothing you take for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, joint pain* and Parkinson turns you into a mass murderer.
* unless it’s crack or heroin
I thought, maybe, but in that case you’re talking 64+1 bullets. You can’t divide 64 evenly by 3 (the number of magazines). If you somehow had some kind of 21 bullet extended magazine, that’s 63 bullets plus a chambered one, for 64 total. 65 doesn’t make any sense. 63, 64, 66, or 67 could potentially work. Just not 65.
I guess you could maybe not fully load every mag, but why?!
Different sized magazines?
Maybe. I mean, I have 10 round and 15 round mags for my pistol. (10 round mags are easier to carry and conceal, 15 rounds are for the range so I don’t reload as often.) But if I was doing the math, I’d note the difference between them in the planning.
(Also, I haven’t carried my pistol for years if anyone is wondering. Luckily I feel no reason to. It rarely leaves my safe.)
Maybe he only had 65 rounds in the house?
Maybe he just made up a number because there weren’t any rounds in the house. He works in a Russian armory and he sold all the ammo for food and vodka.
I remember that! It was well done and really memorable…obviously.
No. But being a traumatized army vet, who has had training to kill and probably did, might. Not to mention having TBI AND brain-splitting headaches as a bonus. Not even necessary to add medication to this for possible cause.
