Not defending Chic-fil-A, but when the furor erupted, I did see some LGBTQ employees post on social media that they never felt unwelcome at that restaurant.
But my surprise is more at the franchiser’s tone-deafness; as I said, they were real quick with the damage control when the protests began. Could be a new franchiser, of course.
Nitpick: I think you mean “franchisee,” i.e. the person or entity that has leased or purchased the franchise. I wouldn’t normally bring it up (hah! who am I kidding?) but in this case it does make a difference to understanding your point.
After their daughters got beaten in a high school sport (the article won’t reveal what sport or what school), the parents of the losing girls demanded that the sports authority prove that the winning girl wasn’t trans. They went back through all of her school records all the way back to kindergarten to prove she had always been a girl.
At least they don’t appear to have done a physical exam.
OK, but the parents of the losing girls must also demand that the sports authority prove that the losing girls aren’t trans either.
A goose/gander and sauce thingy.
Thank you, yes, I did mean franchisee. My first job in high school was with CfA, so I should have known the right term.
It occurred to me that since the CfA homophobia stuff came out, another location opened up in Decatur; maybe that’s the store that’s being sued, rather than the downtown store.
“Children’s Health Defense is a nonprofit known for being skeptical of vaccines”
No.
CHD is known for being deeply hostile to vaccines.
Skepticism implies a degree of rational thought.* CHD has long been deeply down the rabbit hole of deceptive paranoid conspiracy-mongering about vaccination.
*one of the worst anti-vaccine organizations was initially called the Australian Vaccination Network, then was obliged by the government to change its name to avoid misleading people about its mission. AVN became the Australian Vaccination-Skeptics Network, but later changed that name because many members “did not feel comfortable with having the word ‘skeptics’ in” the organization’s name. So they became the Australian Vaccination-risks Network. New name, same old antivax bullshit
A British woman accused a soldier of rape after he rejected her. She went so far as to create false social media accounts to validate her claims. She’s been sent to jail for five years. But only after the soldier spent time in jail on her false charges.
