I think fraud with malicious intent would cover it – though, a lot of cleric types could be vulnerable to such charges just in the course of doing their thing.

I suspect that what they’re thinking is that people they disagree with are trying to “own” their youth, by teaching them things that their parents disagree with, and need to be stopped from doing so. It may not have occured to them that it’s going to read to others as their being the ones trying to “own” everybody’s youth.
Which they are doing, of course; as well as trying to “own” their own children, which they probably think is the right and proper way to parent them.
