I don’t know how it’s done now, but when I had a security clearance my background and family ties were checked. Another gal in line for the same MOS was turned down because she had family in the former Soviet sphere of influence, Yugoslavia I think.

I was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint wearing a shirt designed by an artist (we were going to a showing). The shirt had pink elephants all over it and “DON’T FORGET TO GET DRUNK” in big letters.
We were sober, but it was awkward. The cop laughed and brought two other cops over to see my shirt.
It’s believed that a Brooklyn woman intentionally entered the lion exhibit at the Bronx Zoo twice, despite being barred from the zoo after the first time. No word if the lion ever ate her.
These two dumb motherfuckers admitted on (streaming) TV, to Judge fucking Judy that they were buying/selling food stamps for cash. I’m just a retailer that happens to accept food stamps and I’m beyond well aware that this practice is illegal as the state mails out a ‘reminder’ of the rules at least once a year. I assume that recipients receive similar reminders.
Anyway, they’re talking to judge judy about whatever civil thing they have going on between them and somehow get to the topic of buying/selling food stamps. Now the State of Wisconsin is after them. One of them is being charged with 1 count of Knowingly Traffic Food Stamps, 5 counts of Unauthorized Use of Food Stamps and 4 counts of money laundering, the other one is charged with trafficking food stamps.
Say what you will about whether or not they should be allowed to sell these, but the stupid part was admitting it to Judge Judy.
Also, my WAG is that Judy ratted them out to the state.
