Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

Conspiracy theorists gather at Missouri summit to discuss rigged voting machines, 2020 election

The results of the 2020 presidential election were skewed by corrupt voting machines, at least that’s what speakers and attendees of this year’s Election Crime Bureau Summit seem to think.

Election Crime Bureau? Yeah, that’s some beautiful nomenclature.

“The plan has never been done before in history. It’s never been talked about before, and it’s gonna secure our election platform’s immediately,” Lindell said.

Describing the plan as his holy calling to save the country, Lindell insisted that people from all political backgrounds can agree with his ideas.

Lindell said the current losses and challenges facing him and his supporters are a part of God’s plan to save the country through their actions.

From the loss of the 2020 election to the Jan. 6 insurrection, Lindell insists that every failure happened so that his election plan could be announced and enacted now, prior to the 2024 elections.

As posted in the MyPillow thread, the amazing plan is a 100,000+ fleet of drones to fly over polling locations to sniff for WiFi signals.

I hope Dominion has someone there collecting data to present to the judge when they’re setting the amount of damages for the next judgements that are coming…

Is there any polling place in this country that isn’t within range of half a dozen WiFi signals?

Has Lindell explained how he plans to gather the data from these 100,000 drones (and make sure no one tampers with it in the process), and what he’d hope to do with it once he has it?

First he’s going to sleep on it.

Is there any polling place that doesn’t have WiFi? Maaaybe a rural church that doesn’t have internet. But I even doubt that.

The man is clearly insane, but we know that. So is most of the GOP. Time to invest in large nets and white coats.

I’m glad he (and other GOP members) invoke god’s name when spouting off a bunch of crazy. I like to assume every time that happens that a few more religious people decide that maybe they’d be better off keeping their religion to themselves lest others group them in with the likes of people like him.

If someone asked me to talk about their lord and savior jesus christ or wanted me to join their church, I’m curious how they’d react if I said "Like the my pillow guy, no thanks’.

In any case, Mike might be loud, but he’s mostly powerless. However, he’s another nutjob helping to fracture the right.

He thinks that if voting machines aren’t banned, that means that it is The End Times.

At “Election Summit 2023” Mike Lindell says the quiet part about his christofascist motivations.

Cheerleading the 2020 Big Lie that led to J6, Lindell says “there’s a bright side… hey if we’re wrong… it’s End Times and all of us believers go up to Heaven. It’s a win-win.”

American Christians tend to assume every relatively mild problem (compared to the bloodbaths, plagues, and disasters filling the last 2000 years) mean that things are so bad it is time for God to rescue his One Chosen People, a subset of American Protestants.

I just noticed that the stupid motherfucker actually thinks that has just now invented wardriving:

“What if I told you that there’s a device that’s been made for the first time in history that could tell you that that machine was online?…Well, this is what we’ve been working on for over a year,” Lindell said today. “This is a demo, everybody. We have it.”

If any of those drones are equipped with a camera, they’ll likely be providing their own signals!

You know…if you wanted to make a quick buck from these obviously gullible rubes, you could just make a device that flashed green every time you pointed it at any other electronic device and undercut the legitimate (and many illegitimate) vendors. Odds are pretty good anything you point at will be networked in some fashion anyway. Why go to the effort of actually checking when the customer doesn’t actually care?

When I moved to my current home, our voting spot was a rural church with no phone, no heat, and no cell service. It was changed soon after as they couldn’t get poll workers for that location.

Hmm… Making me think. What about separation of church and state? It’s cool that it’s a local gathering place for some. And they open their doors and presumably have enough room, but…

Our county courthouse is one of the main places to vote. If it’s cold we use some of our transit buses set up and people ‘line’ up in there. They are at least heated, so no standing in line outside.

That phrase is not literally referencing physical separation…

The church was dedicated in 1899 and is little used at this point. They do have a graveyard with some stones, and those seem to be maintained.

The common voting locations around here, rural eastern Missouri, are schools, churches, and VFW/Elks halls.

The headline doesn’t really say it all. Without the “fast food restaurant” and “Tulsa” we miss so much context.

Part of my team does manage voting places. And my direct team puts together maps of polling places. So it’s OK.

Why we don’t have more mail in voting is nutso though. I’ve been doing it for ~10 years.

People like DeJoy are a concern though.

We vote in a church. This bothers my husband too. I’m not fussed. As long as they aren’t handing out religious tracts or anything I don’t really care where I vote.

Hmmmm. As I understand it, many states forbid voters from wearing clothing supporting a candidate. I wonder what would happen if I wore a t-shirt with a satanic message when I went to a church to vote.

As long as it’s completely demagnetized, it should be fine.
