Messi scored his 100th goal for Argentina a couple minutes ago. Against Curacao… Their FIFA ranking is higher than I would have guessed, but this team is terrible. Why would Argentina schedule this game? Trying to get Messi to catch up to Ronaldo?
As I’m typing he scored his 3rd tonight to make it 5-0 in the 37th minute.
Curaçao is surprisingly decent. They beat Honduras in Nations League a bit ago. I guess maybe there weren’t many options available for Argentina to schedule, with all the qualifying matches and nations league games going on now.
I wonder if I’ll ever get used to Canada actually being legitimately pretty good. We beat Honduras 4-1 today; it wasn’t that long ago they knocked us out of WC qualifying 8-1.
Oh, definitely. There was one qualifier where he scored 15 goals against teams that were like 130+ in the ELO rankings. Doesn’t mean Argentina should schedule them though.
After watching him recently against Southhampton (especially in the first half), I’m wondring if Kevin De Bruyne might be the best playmaker on the planet. Not to mention this game - he became the fifth Premier Leaguer to reach 100 assists, doing so more quickly than anyone else. I’m sure Haaland thinks the world of him.
Oh, absolutely he is, and has been for a while. While it’s certainly easier to look good at Man City than most other places, he’d stand out anywhere.
Kinda wish Haaland was on a more fast paced team though. He was more exciting at Dortmund on the break. Gets to work on his heading game a lot more now though. Gotta get that Ronaldo snap header going and he’ll score more next year than this one.
Barcelona currently losing at half just after Real Madrid lost over the weekend. Think there’s a good chance they earn points in the second half, but Barca really not trying to win the league.
Napoli wins the Scudetto after 33 years, first Argentina wins the World Cup and now this, el Diego is making some changes there in Heaven now that He his back on his throne.
