On Bush, Lies, and Nostalgia: The Little Lie That Couldn't Quite!

No I didn’t miss that. I friggin’ quoted it. Because a person states an untruth for a cause, that doesn’t mean it’s still not an untruth.

Not a bit of it, Elvis. Posted by me on 2/14/03:"

Are you a just a dumbass, or are you, too, lying? Either way, enjoy your crow.

“Literary effect?” Good one.

Yes, of course, every member on this board waits patiently for every pearl of wisdom to come out of your keyboard and onto our willing monitors, so we can memorize it, ponder its meaning, and gratefully accept it into our souls.

Get over yourself. Or go pout about it on one of those drama-queen boards that the self-immolators here go to. You know damn well how far down the partisan line you’ve gone with this bunch of lying, warmongering bastards. This pathetic attempt to equate all levels of untruth is a typical practice of the backpedaling conservative ideologue. “So Bush lied about a war? Clinton lied about a blowjob. So what?” Sad.

Mmmmm…crow-nut.

Gotta admit he has a point, Unc.

Equivocate much, Elvis? That last post is a thing of beauty, you dumbass. You really stepped in it the first time through. But instead of wiping the shit off your shoe and admitting your mistake, you choose to plant the other foot right in middle of the steaming pile. And then track it inside on the carpeting.

Yup. I know exactly how far down the line I’ve gone. It’s you that appears to not know. And this, despite my many interactions with you over the past three years on topics political. Here’s how far I’ve gone. I voted for Bush. And that’s pretty much it. And as I’ve said several times here, I’ve come to regret voting for him. I have vocally opposed many of his policies and initiatives, but your dogmatic liberal partisanship and hatred of all things conservative has blinded you quite effectively.

Dumbass. Do the honest and mature thing. Admit you made a mistake and move on. Your equivocation only makes you look more foolish.

Maybe I do. If I knew what the fuck he was talking about. I wanna see just where I’ve equated Bush’s lies about the reasons for this war with Clinton’s untruthful testimonies. I don’t know just what point it is he’s trying to make about me.

In fact, since you fuckers are all but labeling me a knee-jerk reactionary, I’d like to see where I’ve vocally supported anything Bush has done, with the exception of things fiduciary, like the tax cuts and estate tax roll-back. Those are true conservative issues and Bush most certainly is no true conservative. I think that because I’m a known gun rights advocate, you guys think I’m a tow-the-line Republican. That, I assure is far from the truth. And in fact, Bush doesn’t seem to be much of a gun rights supporter himself. So, I’m kinda at odds with him on this, too.

Sorry, Unc, but speaking for myself and not Elvis I must’ve missed your posts when you were NOT toeing the GOP party line because they have been overwhelmed by the ones when you WERE. But I am willing to look on you with new eyes.

Okay. Show 'em to me. If these are so overwhelming, it oughtta be easy to find a few. Like I said, I can’t recall towing the GOP line on anything except fiduciary matters. Oh yeah, I also supported the ANWR drilling. so, there’s three things. But that’s all I can recall.

Um, a simulpost.

If you read Elvis’s assessment, you will see that he is creating a strawman with your face. What I agreed with was not the StrawBeer but that conservative Republicans have been trotting out that tired false comparison for months now.

But as those three are the lion’s share of your non-moderating posts, IIRC…

Yeah, I probably have a false impression of you as you probably do of me. And I can’t even blame the internet (alone) for it. The internet, strong drink, and loud parties when we are together but not the internet alone.
