ii received a Handy Andy toolkit when I was 8. Real tools too. I learned to repair my Schwinn with them. Used that toolkit several years. Added a few screwdrivers that I needed to work on my bike.

Coincidentally, I use the same trick to remember how to spell my name.

What I want to know is is when the hell did all the Andrew’s in the world decide to switch names? When I was growing up there were Andys as far as the eye could see. Then one fateful day I met a Drew who had to explain to me that it was also short for Andrew. And overnight there were no more Andys anywhere, but Drews all over the goddamn place.

I am sure. I am not Drew (except for this one guy in the Navy who insisted for some reason), and very rarely am I Andrew. I’m Andy.

I’ll recommend once again this hotel in Arlington. It’s 3 minutes’ walk from the Virginia Square metro station, which means you can be at the Smithsonian museums, the Capitol, the Zoo, or any other downtown DC destination in 15-25 minutes. There’s a mall and several restaurants within walking distance (including a cheap all night pizza and sandwich place next door). I lived a block away for several years.

It’s not luxury, but it’s decent and relatively cheap accomodations.

Anyway, it was a great idea even if it went unheeded. And if you’ve never eaten at Bob and Edith’s, you’re missing a great breakfast.

Oops, I thought you meant the movie Yes, I did recommend that hotel. As to Bob and Edith’s, I’ll put it on my list! We don’t go out for breakfast much, but I’ll try and persuade my lovely wife.
