When he says “love gay people” why do you read it as “tolerate gay people”? He doesn’t say tolerate them. He says love them. I understand what the OP is saying, but I think he is being massively unfair to the article’s author. When he lists gang members, tattooed people, the homeless, etc, he’s listing groups that Christians have often had a hard time loving and he says “love them.” I don’t see where he says “they’re terrible sinners, but love them anyway”; he says “love them.”
Now to me the whole article was a “well, duh” but I belong to a fairly progressive church. I definitely see how this command is more challenge to more conservative Christians.
Right. I don’t see any evidence that the guy thinks homosexuality is a sin. But the video is addressed to Christians who do think its a sin, and while ideally I’d want those people to stop thinking of it that way, it’s unrealistic to expect them to jump straight from, “God hates fags” to “Straight, not narrow” in one move. If we want these people to stop being homophobes, we have to recognize that it’s going to be a gradual process. A process that is not at all helped by screaming, brain-damaged assholes like the OP.

I believe to be true that there exists on the planet Earth, more than one person who self identifies as a Christian,and those people believe that having sexual relations outside of a marrage is an act of adultery,and said adultery is among the forbidden actions in the Ten Commandments,and furthermore, they object to people commiting adultery in any form.

Actually, the RCC is wholly consistent on this issue. They say that any non-procreative sex is against the natural order of things and since homosexual sex isn’t procreative, it is not permitted. I’m sure there are some hypocritical bigots that use contraception and vote against legalising gay marriage anyway, which is utterly indefensible in my view.
