Curse you, DS Young, and the Esq you rode in on.
I’d say the Irish had a bit of a hand in producing someone called O’Brien, too.
Now, Now, Coldy, just cause your team is watching from home, don’t need to be testy. After all, slow reflexes might be a Dutch trait… <ducking and running>
And I also meant to say by scoring 3 goals.
Although in my grammar impaired defence, I could say that Portugal only scored once
Well, not the entire team is watching from home. Why, I just saw Edgar Davids in a Pepsi commercial called “Training Camp, Japan” last night!
Whatever the hell he’s doing there is another matter.
[sub]Tossing a can of Pepsi to a Sumo wrestler, apparently. I figure the commercial must have been filmed before Holland were eliminated, but c’mon, is 8 months too short a period to edit a bloody commercial??[/sub]
Boy am I happy I woke up for this one… I can be one of the few dozen Americans who can honestly say they watched.
Germany 1, Ireland 0
Come on Ireland!
more hijacking
They’re killing us in midfield play. We need Roy but we don’t have him. Come on Ireland
would someone please kill that dumb footballitis commercial? And what is up with that ointment ending???
I thought I saw something impressive start happen second half of the first half… a lot of opportunities but they’re being let down by a) lack of cover in the box, and b) have-a-go heroes trying to score from outside the box.
Are all you boys off work today or what…!!!
I’m having to watch the match on the radio.
Come on Ireland!
To see the lads doing the huddle at the start, and the crowd singing “You’ll never walk Alone”… magic.
TV in the office in my case. IT support but nobody is calling as they’re all in the pub/big conference room with a projection TV.
I’m suffering through Andy Gray talking nonsense.
We were promised a TV for the big games but it didn’t appear.
It may as well have been provided for the amount of work (none) people are doing here!
one of the girls in the office just came back from the shop and said that there are no car on the roads at all and this office is right in the centre of Dublin. Ireland shuts down during our games.
Come on
Wow! Getting up this morning was worth every second of lost sleep. The ole’ US of A looked great in the first half and hung on in the second half. We still can’t maintain possession of the ball for very long and that really hurt us in the second half.
And why did Portugal give us so much space on their defensive end?
Woo Hooo!!!
Normally I can’t stand my bouts of insomnia. But when I said “screw it” and crawled out of bed at 5 AM, turned on the TV, and heard the guy on the local Spanish Channel screaming “GOOOOAAAALLLLLLLLLLL!” with only 4 minutes on the clock, I decided I couldn’t complain.
Damn that was an entertaining game. And I don’t even like soccer all that much.
I think I’m going to have to write a letter of apology to my friend’s neighbors. Five of us were watching the game in his townhouse and were incredibly loud when the US scored the third. Completely slipped my mind that it was 5:45 a.m. Oops!
I thought the US played pretty well. I’m always nervous when the ball gets near our defense, but Sanneh played a pretty solid game as did Hejduk. Pope was solid as usual and Agoos, well, his goal was a hell of a shot.
YES! GOAL! Brilliant.
