here we go, ladies and gentlemen! Time to seperate the wheat from the chaff.
the Great SD World Cup 2002 prediction game!!!

I have decided to run this in 6 sections. There are 48 games, and the first 2 sections will have 24 games each. We will set a submit date for each round of predictions just before the first game in each section.
the deadline for round one submissions will be the 30th of May,
Round 2: the 7th of June.

we will do the other sections (the Second Round will be section 3, the quarter finals section 4, semi final in section 5, and the final will be section 6.
The scoring shall be thus.

3 points for a correct outcome with a correct score
1 point for a correct result (right outcome, wrong score)

Hey Twisty, do you want these in email or on this thread? Considering my vast knowledge of soccer consists of watching (and thoroughly enjoying) the World Cup and having gone to high school with one of the US squad members, anyone I beat should be ashamed, but I enjoy making a fool of my predictive abilities.

Twisty, I wonder if there’s a website somewhere that could host this and then we could check back in the thread and gloat or gripe as appropriate? Sort of an equivalent to American Fantasy Football or the collegiate basketball championship tracking pools?

Just worry that if enough people (and I hope that there are a lot) post predictions in here this thread will soon become ponderous.

Twisty: depending on size requirements, I could host it on my own site (I have a few meg free). The only problem is in updating, since I can’t FTP unless I’m dialed up to them myself. That’s not normally a problem but I’m on holiday from tomorrow morning until next Tuesday night, so I couldn’t update then.
