Again, one of my threads closed without el explanationo. This is the thread if anyone wants to look at it. It might be because of the other one with the same topic I couldn’t find, but I just thought I would post this. Any explination from either member or admin. will be helpful. This is only here because I posted one like this a few weeks ago and got, ahem, a ‘warning’ I guess you could call it.
Umm, just a WAG, but maybe because you posted in the General Questions Forum, but didn’t actually post a question?

Where else could I have put it? The other one that asked that was posted in GQ so I put it there so the person who posted it could find it. They wouldn’t have looked in GD or the Cafe Society, would they?
Well, you could have posted it on the end of the original thread. It’s quite easy to find, as demonstrated by panamajack’s post in the thread concerned.
Ideally at the end of the original thread, as friedo suggests, but MPSIMS would be another good choice. This is where the original thread should probably have started, anyway.

“Can you make 666 out of Osama bin Laden?” might be a General Question.
“I made 666 out of Osama bin Laden” might be Mundane Pointless Shit You Must Share.
The search function is your friend. Emailing a mod can also be helpful, if they didn’t give you a reason in the closed thread.
I know you thought that someone was eagerly awaiting this information, but that’s still no excuse for posting in the wrong forum. If the original poster was anxious enough, he/she would have searched for your post.
Three letters for all of you-

Meh.
Technically, this should have been in ATMB.
You won’t be banned for asking an explanation, no matter how obvious it may be to others, as long as the thread in question wasn’t too much out of line.
The answer has been given: you should have posted this as an answer to the thread that inspired you to use your pencil and, allegedly, your brain. Now go forth, and come up with 666-calculations for Bill Gates, George W. Bush, Michael Jackson, the Dalai Lama, Monty Pythons Lama, Fred Astaire, the easter bunny, and your mother. We can hardly wait.
This thread is closed, too.
P.S. Most of the times, I take sigs as humourous. But this:
… might just be closer to reality than I expected.
