Once Upon A Time - the rest of Season Two

On the one hand having the two outsiders working together simplifies things, but on the other hand, it’s pretty convoluted.

That’s the thing - all that coincidence is somehow less believable than a completely magical fairy tale town.

My thoughts exactly.

My mother loves this show, but I have one thought on my mind…

…How many more seasons do you think there’s left in OUAT? I was surprised that this series is still going on since she is complaining that they are stretching out this season with a few breaks.

Don’t get me wrong-- I don’t hate the show, but I felt this series could’ve been made as a mini-series.

It is seeming more and more that Once Upon a Time really really wants to be Lost.

Quimby, If “Once Upon A Time” has a better ending than “Lost” did, I’m fine with that.

Looks like tonight’s show is a retrospective of this season with some creator interviews and previews for the remaining episodes.

Really feel like I need to go read a re-cap of some of the backstories. Not sure how Snow White and her mother (Ava?) tie in with the Prince Henry and Cora stories – which is my biggest confusion right now. Rewatched the candle episode and caught what I missed earlier, so that is cleared up. Still loving the show, but it definitely needs to weed out some characters and tie up some ends. (I started Lost once, made it half-way through the first season. I started Heroes once and made it through 2 seasons, but got so confused I gave up. We will see how long this show goes.)

Just a reminder that there’s a new episode tonight.

I hope it will be a good one. My feelings on this show have been waxing and waning.

I know it’s been stated before, but I do feel that they’re adding too many new plots into the mix while dropping older ones that haven’t been wrapped up yet.

It seems like the producers of a few shows recently (Fringe, for example) have the attitude, “Hey, this will be cool. Huh? In universe explanation? Continuity? People care about that?”

What did you guys think? I wasn’t too happy with this episode. They’re setting up a lot of problems to solve with only two episodes left to go.

I adore Rumple/Gold, and Belle, so I was happy with it! Actually I found it kind of comical in a sick way, that Gold gave up trying to be ‘good’ since Belle/Lacey is presently ‘bad’ - so he’s like, the hell with it, and keeps on thrashing that poor guy in the alley with his walking stick.

Yeah, that part was pretty dark. I liked seeing the Rumple/Belle flashback, and the introduction of Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. Seems strange that Belle’s alter-ego in Storybrooke is so different from her true self.

Well, I wouldn’t count on them trying to solve many of these problems this season. I think the writers have actually set themselves up pretty well to end the season with rising tension, perhaps a crisis, or a cliffhanger event (like a bunch of them going back to Storybrooke?) and they’ll pick it up there next season. The major “Cora” story arc is resolved, and so they can spend some time resetting the players and expanding on their conflicts.

I guess I’m just worried that just like in Fringe, or from what I’ve heard about Lost (I never watched it) that the writers aren’t thinking things through and that they’re going to write themselves into corners.

Everything is getting so dark. Regina and now Gold have given up on trying to reform. Belle/Lacey is evil in this world. Tamara want’s power and will kill anyone who gets in her way. Regina knows about the magic bean field. Captain hook will be back. And we don’t know if Owen/Greg has any motives beyond finding his father.

I loved it too. Anything that gets them back together works for me, especially if it’s a little twisted, which always seemed more up Rumple’s alley.

Lacey’s not just different - she seems to be the mirror opposite of Belle, right down to employing the same words in the opposite context. I wonder if the implication is that she’s like that by Regina’s design, because she wanted to mess with Rumple.

The ‘guy in the alley’ - was the Sherrif of NottingHam - the one that wanted her for like “20 minutes” during the flashback…

Belle/Lacey didn’t have a Storybrooke set of memories - she was locked in the mental hospital/dungeon with no memories/story whatsoever.

I liked watching David/Charming give dating advice to Mr. Gold. Cute and funny.

StG

Yeah–I’m thinking that Regina threw some little spell/curse on Belle with that matchbook that has nothing to do with who she was before in Storybrooke (if that’s who Belle had been before the curse broke, that’s who she would’ve reverted to from the time she crossed the town line). I believe she did it so that “Lacey” would be attracted to the darkness in Gold. Then he would quit fighting it, and end up screwing things up with Bae–and Henry–for good. Plus, she just likes making Rumple miserable.

absotively.

And I think Regina does not belive that Gold didn’t know that Henry was Emma’s son. I certainly don’t. Did they change the enire staff fo writers between season one and two?
